Folk music - Redditch Folk Club and stories, any live music, fiction, wine making, green living, paganism, walking, reading, films. Landscape, especially hills and rivers. I like being surprised, and obliged to think.
News from Copper Age for more of what's happening with that project. (Lots is happening, and even more is planned so keep watching these spaces)

So, about me. As you may have guessed from the above stuff, I write - mostly fiction (fantasy, poetry, erotica, romance, literary, pagan stuff, the odd mumming play). I have a fair few ebooks to my name, two paperbacks, and a lot of contributions to anthologies (see my books section for links). I write for Copper Age as well (check out my friends links).
When I'm not tapping away at the keyboard, I play violin, viola and bouzouki - I busk and hope to do some gigging. I sing with The Coven - mediaeval Babes inspired female group. I also run a folk club. Live music is a big part of my life and I love the folk tradition. I have recently finished studying Druidry with OBOD and celebrate with the Bards of the Lost Forest in the West Midlands and am a volutneer for the Druid Network. I have a small son and a long suffering husband. I'm a dreamer and deeply passionate about the things that matter to me.
My blog consists of personal stuff and occasional reviews - usually for books and music that aren't overwhelmed by mainstream attention. Many of the creative people I review work from are here on myspace. If you really want me to review you, drop me a line. If you look like my sort of thing, I'll give it a go.
Please check out this video introduction to Hopeless, Maine (its a Copper Age thing)
Who I'd like to meet: My major ambition at the moment is to meet my Copper Age collaborator Tom Brown in person. I think working together in the same space, on the same bits of paper would be awesome. Tom on deviantart
Also would like to meet Neil Gaiman, Robert Holdstock, Charles De Lint, Nix Winter, Kevan Manwaring.
I harbour desires to encounter supernatural beings and mythical creatures - vampires, shape shifters, unicorns, dragons etc.

Poem 162 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): TEES TO TYNE: FIRST IMPRESSIONS - SUMMER 2001
Where traditions are not so rare; Sea, country and works scent the air; A multitude of monuments, Planted tubs and patterned pavements.
The longish pedestrian malls; The remnants of defensive walls; Historic buildings are a gauge Of the respect for heritage.
Wheat, rape and pines in the fields; Estuaries guarded by shields; Long sandy beaches and wide scenes; Romantic-ruin go-betweens.
Rivers in parts licked by trees, Or fringed by boat clubs, wharfs, gantries, And crossed by practical delights - Varied spans, forming pleasing sights.
Fine churches headed at Durham; Football kits ad infinitum; Kept castles - one for study; Masonry behind masonry.
And, with moulding-works out that way, It’s somewhere for a longer stay..?

With little here to do or see Of things that in the great world be, Sweet Daisy! oft I talk to thee For thou art worthy, Thou unassuming commonplace Of Nature, with that homely face, And yet with something of a grace Which love makes for thee!

Poem 2 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): WALKABOUT WITH MY PEN
Once drove an old sedan, up north, From a place in Sydney to Cairns; Then to Kuranda I went forth, By train, to look without set plans.
I browsed through the trendy market, With fresh fruits of tropical kind; Walked to the creek through lush thicket - Nature’s hand giving peace of mind.
I dined in a scenic cafe; Then, outside, as I wrote for yen, Some passing Kooris called-out: “Hey, You go walkabout with your pen.”
Request or question, I don’t know - Assured voices, elderly men. That’s now several years ago, And I’ve seen the world - with my pen.
