B SEITEN SOUND ist eine zehnköpfige Reggae-Band aus Wien. was als Schmelztigel unterschiedlicher musikalischer Einflussbereiche begann, hat sich im Laufe der vergangenen Jahre zu einer der bekanntesten Reggae-Formation der Stadt entwickelt. B SEITEN SOUND versteht sich als eingeschworenes Ensemble, die im Reggae übliche Trennung von Rhythmus-Section und Vocal Artist existiert hier nicht, Patois Gesang und Rap kommen gleichermaßen zum Zug.
Schlagzeug, Bass, Gitarren, Keys und Horn-Section, sowie P.TAH und MILKMAN an den Mikrophonen haben in unzähligen Shows in Österreich und Deutschland den Ruf als erstklassige Live-Band gefestigt.
Born in dark and dingy basements in Vienna spring 2004, B-SEITEN SOUND (= B-Side) has since grown to an outfit of ten musicians, brought together by their love for Reggae-music. What started as occasional jam sessions soon became a full size groove battery consisting of drums, bass, guitars, organ and keys, three piece horn section and two dedicated vocal Artists, namely P.Tah (member of the austrian Hip Hop group „Hörspielcrew“) and Milkman, who had earned local fame with his smash hit „Mango Chutney“ before joining forces with B-SEITEN SOUND. But it soon became clear, that the band was up for more than the regular offbeat routine and the popular „standard-riddim“ practice. Blending reggae with all the other music they love to listen to (ranging from hip hop, jazz and soul to funk and even balkan-groove) and a touch of black humour resulted in a slightly different sound from what you would expect. The B-Side, as they understand it, is not what is held insufficient for the A-Side, but rather the often underrated "grand finale" of a record, where endings count just as much as the beginnings. Hence, B-SEITEN SOUND have commited themselves to pull all the stops. live as well as in the studio. Always. No shit.

Review: "Don Goliath's "Bagstep EP" (DDR030) is one of those innovative EPs showcasing how versatile Dubstep can get. The unique idea of creating Dubstep versions of celctic (Irish as well as Scottish) folk classics for all you drunkards longing to sing along was Don Goliath's motto when producing this madness. The concept is as simple as effective: he picked 4 of your grandpa's favourites such as "Old Skibbereen", "Scotland the Brave", "Drunken Sailor" and "Amazing Grace" having the melody played by a definitly non-sober Bagpipe section and then layering it with lofi mid range wobbleism - we therefor call it Bagstep. Overall production quality is high grade with that intense sub focus so you can blow-dry your hair right in front of the bass bins. Now let's get into the tunes: "Skibbereen Bagstep" is one of the melancolic minor tunes expressing Irish history as it is. It is an unmixable 3/4 waltz beat at unusual 154bpm, well dancebal though when one moves to the triplets. "Bagstep the brave" should be one of the sickest rebuilds of the Scottish national anthem making it Mel Gibson's signature tune if he had one. "Drunken Bagstep" is a Glitchfest version of the sailors anthem capable of getting you uberdrunk by listening alone, Arrrr! "Amazing Bagstep" is as religious as it gets making it a tune that'll certainly safe xamounts of lost souls. Enjoying the dancefloor got even easier now: drink out the bar, make your skirt fly and sing along to these (future) classics! Some will hate this release and some will love it, there barely is anything in between. All Dubstep Division crew salutes the latter as our fellow beerheadz! cheeeeeerz!"
