From their quaint and spacious hometown of Charlesington, UK come Bubble & Squeak, bearing a "transcendently" potent blend of new wave, brit-pop, and power pop. One could even call it New Brit Power Wave, if one felt inclined.
The brainchild of Boston Conservatory student Jesse Swenson and local celebrity Sam Karasik, Bubble & Squeak was conceived upon a frosty winter night in 2004. Wistfully remembering their high school pop-punk days, the two set off to write some new music inspired by the year 1984, Great Britain, sincerity, love, and a burning desire to be better than Oasis.
After spending a weekend creating five electrifying tracks of new wave fury, the boys realized that if Bubble & Squeak were going to take the world by storm, they would need a bassist and keyboardist. The choices were obvious, and immediately after hearing the Bubble & Squeak recordings, Chris Spears signed on as synthist while Julian Comanda took upon himself the role of bass-playing man. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Comanda came into posession of an "Alesis SR-16" drum machine known only as Rhythm P. Brosberry, and the line-up was complete.
Their debut, smash album, "Synthier Than Thou" was engineered and produced by Hotspur drummer Scott Robinson and released in June of 2005 to much acclaim from local critics and local teenage girls. After discussing their hopes and dreams for the future, the Squeak decided to induct Andrew Eden, of Bloody Diock fame, as their second guitarist.
With their new line-up in order and a whole team of new songs, the band joined forces again with the multi-talented and staggeringly affluent producer Scott Robinson to complete "Dansing Is An Emotion," the brand new full length album NOW AVAILABLE ON iTUNES!
Of the new songs local oaf Paul Joyner said that it was, "The most original music since 1989!"
