Bubonik Funk is a ticking time bomb of musical excellence. The band has been playing the Charlotte underground for over three years, growing and expanding their style and skill. Every B-Funk show offers something wild; be it the groove-oriented improvisional jams, the flailing rambunctious front man, the call and respond guitar/scat solos, Drum and Bass freestyle over raps, chants, audience clap alongs and God-only-knows what else. The band has surfaced recently as one of the predominant indie bands on the scene along with Lucky 5, Mickey Biscuittt, The Lo and Beholds, Sugar Glyder and The Robins. Energetic, unforgettable shows at the Evening Muse and the Neighborhood theater and a deal with East Coast Entertainment Promotion Agency solidified this change. A summer tour and possible E.P. of completely new material may be coming in the near future. The vast majority of music, performances and recordings have yet to be heard from this band, but untapped potential will ultimately be heard and seen by everyone.
