Far from being usual Dj’s, Buffetlibre Dj’s focus their efforts on the creation of original projects to promote new interesting bands. Their most relevant project is “Rewind”, where some great new artists record 70’s, 80’s and 90’s covers to be included in new Buffetlibre Dj’s mixtapes. Some of the artists involved in “Rewind” are Dragonette, Bonde Do Role,
Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin, Goodbooks, Au Revoir Simone, 1990s, and many more. First part of “Rewind” was released last July and it was downloaded by more than 500,000 people. Second and final part of this non-commercial tribute will be released next January, with 100 new 70’s, 80’s and 90’s covers. Another interesting project is “Proyecto
Batidora” ( http://www.buffetlibredjs.net ). “Batidora” is the biggest remix project in the world, where Buffetlibre Dj’s offer the chance to visitors to remix songs from many artists such as Yelle, Cut Copy, Holy Fuck, Ladyhawke and Rumble Strips.
On the other hand, Buffetlibre Dj’s conceive every night as the “biggest party ever”. Their acclaimed “Verbena” mixtapes have been featured in sites such as USA Today, Pitchfork, Discodust and Resonator, and two of them (”Hit!” and “Rewinded”) were the most downloaded tracks in August and November, according to blog aggregator Elbo.ws. Simian Mobile Disco, Bright Eyes, Editors, Midnight Juggernauts and many other artists have
collaborated with Buffetlibre Dj’s in the making of these mixtapes. In the last three months, they have played in London, Paris, Barcelona,Madrid, Budapest, St Gallen, Arnhem, Manchester, Palma de Mallorca, Edinburgh, Bilbao, Sevilla, Valladolid and Vigo,
combining their travels with their monthly residences in Madrid (Low Club) and Barcelona (Razzmatazz). Their current live shows are a tasty combination of new music
with hits from 70’s, 80’s, 90’sand now, with the main objective of dancing and being danced.
