Hailing from Nottingham, Bumsnogger were conceived in 2002 in a drunken haze, with the sole aim of playing riff frenzied ferocious sludge-metal. Tipping their collective hats in tribute to the likes of sludge giants Iron Monkey and Eyehategod, as well as more traditional noise like Black Sabbath and Motorhead.
Their debut EP '...And Destroy All That Come Before Us' was self-released under their own label, Ape Of Thoth Records, in June 2003, and gained favourable reviews in the rock press.
A split 7" with Among The Missing was released in July 2005 to coincide with a UK tour the 2 bands undertook, featuring the track 'Trampling The Infidels Under Hooves Of Hot Iron'. This release was limited to 333 copies, and was pressed on fluorescent pink vinyl.
In October 2006 the band release a 6 track EP entitled 'Alcohol & Swine' which was recorded over 4 days at Stuck On A Name studios in Nottingham, on Calculon Records (who have released records by Charger, Black Eye Riot, Church Of Misery, Sourvein and Lazarus Blackstar). The raw and unrelenting CD looks set to wow listeners once more, and features tracks such as the groove-laden "Cockfight" to the ferocious "Whitney's Crack Den".
The band have clocked up a hefty amount of shows around the country, with many of their peers, including the likes of High On Fire, Winnebago Deal, Cathedral, Orange Goblin, Mistress, 3 Inches Of Blood, Paradise Lost and Send More Paramedics.
Just remember - there is more to a band than a name ...
