   About Burning Codes
Codes transmission begins...

Gary Lightbody – (Snow Patrol) – ‘Breathtaking…it kicks redemptive ass’

Iain archer - (Solo Artist, Ivor Novello Award winner)- 'It is new music that sounds like nothing else around at the moment - beautiful, soulful, momentary paeans of glory, I kid you not.'

MP3 Hugger Review - 'Burning Codes are showing why it is sometimes better to lead by what comes from inside rather than follow what is going on all around.'

Burning Codes is the solo project of Irish, Belfast born singer and songwriter Paul Archer,(Paul also contributed vocals to five tracks on Snow Patrol’s ‘Eyes Open’) the project also includes various sonic collaborators including Iain Archer (Solo Artist, Snow Patrol, Reindeer Section, and Ivor Novello winner).

Burning Codes music concerns our own unique messages, the codes which are truly ours, uniquely understood and owned by each of us, uniquely. The music is birthed from our moments and what we do with these moments, how we see, feel, react, encode and decipher the inner messages and the outer manifestations of what we feel, think and do.

So, in some way the aim is to try to 'seize the moment/s' and, as much as possible, create right there and then, just to see what happens when we abandon our conventions and let things flow.

Burning Codes has received Radio One airplay via Zane Lowe's Evening session, BBC 6 Music and BBC NI's Across The Line plus various local stations nationally as well as independent radio stations in the U.S.

Recent gigs have seen Burning Codes supporting and playing with the likes of Gary Lightbody and Lisa Hannigan, Elbow, Duke Special and many others.

'The Worthy Cause' EP was released May 2008 on new, fresh and innovative Belfast label Only Gone Records and was a featured release on iTunes in it’s first week of release. The new eponymously titled long player was released 19 October 2008 (for album reviews and press see sites below).

Here is what some folk have said about the B.Codes eponymously titled debut already:

Press Quotes

'A truly remarkable debut album...mysterious, melodic, beautiful, eerily intimate... gorgeous harmonies'

Hot Press Magazine

'As quietly awesome and deeply intimate as catching the first glimpse of dawn from a secret solitary place.'

AU Magazine

'Affecting to the point where I get emotional every time I hear it'

mp3hugger

'The album is a macrocosm of kindness. If understood it will touch you in a way that you will remember and carry with you for the rest of your life. It taps into what you feel and erases all doubt, negativity and abandonment. In this album you have hope, friendship and respect.'

Halina Rifai - SleepwalKing

' magisterial performance '

Culture NI

'The 'codes' are expansive yet minmalistic... intense layering of harmonies an d lyrics, big vocal drones and even some choral vocals '

Thank you, Mr.A!  You are always so nice, and I really want to see you play live... I want to go to London!  Some of my friends go there quite often just to see some cool bands.  Steve Hillage is so cool, and I think he is an Englishman, but GONG is French, well I don't know, but anyway your comment always makes me so happy, Paul!

Have a lovely weekend, sir!

Paul, that video is awesome! (And for once I use that word in its true meaning.)

What I wouldn't give to have been in the room when that was happening. I bet it was 'blow the top of your head off' amazing sound.

Shiver-tastic.

You just don't seem to be able to write a song I don't LOVE.

That's a weird double-negative compliment.

Keep on keeping on.
