BIOGRAPHY
It all began in the year of 2000 in a small town outside Oslo. Marte, Inger and Helene started to strum on some instruments they found lying around, and got inspired to start a band… they called it The Cables. Not long after, they met the fourth member of the band, Silje, a super-whiz at the guitar whose soloing prowess kickstarted the band. Three AC/DC albums, two Ramones concerts, and one Horrorpops video later, the band invented their very own kind of rock'n'roll and started gigging.
In springtime 2004, Helene decided to leave the band, and replaced by their biggest fan and devoted t-shirt salesman; Tine. She happily accepted the offer, practiced til' her hands bled, and the band finally released their first 2005 EP "Oh-La-La". In 2006, The Cables won the oft-sought out Zoom competition given to two of Norway's best unsigned bands along with Ida Maria. By 2008, Tine decided to leave to continue her studies, and the band completed their line-up with Ann Sung-an Lee, former Mika Bomb guitarist. With the signature sound of producer Tommy Akerholdt (Silver, Serena Maneesh), the band were ready to take on the world.
In March 2009 they released their debut album "Same Places, Same Faces".
Hi girls! You're the first Norwegian band to get added to my playlist, I checked out your tunes after I found out you were playing with one of my favourite bands, The Living End. Good luck! x
Hi, thanks for the add! I had a good time on your last gig... ...and after (if you know what I mean). You are welcome to come and pick up your underwear any time. Peace and love ladies! ;)
