With great pleasure I would like to announce the newest release by Lexington, KY's Caboladies, 'Crowded Out Memory.' Though this disc was recorded nearly a year ago when the group was still a three-piece, I feel it is one of their most representative and cohesive statements since "Body Tides." With little use of overdubs, 'Crowded' already endures as a musical testament to collective transcendence, only possible within the magic of what is called the Moment or the Now, ie. that instance in live recording/performance when it just clicks. It seems that because of this drive to the Unattainable, comparisons to Emeralds are inevitable, so let me stress that this is wholly different in both instrumentation and arrangement. The songs themselves are reminiscent of the best moments of Fennesz through the calculated untangling of melodic digitalia, sheets & textures and the interplay therein. It is the very music itself that speaks to this Age of Information, where convenience technologies and their widespread cultural embrace place a stranglehold on human-to-human interaction. An emerging recursion to the place where overabundant memories lose significance.
With that, I leave you with the music- this is an essential grip for all the Liminalist's out there..

..We've also got a new track appearing on the Radio Scenic Glow Vol. 1 compilation disc in affiliation with the Upstairs label. We're pretty juiced about it... For more info... http://upstairscdr.blogspot.com/....
F U T U R E ...bunch of full-lengths and stuff coming out in 2010
Too old to call himself a hipster out loud but not too old to want to score trim with an ironic mustache piece of work immediately above this text. He works not only against good taste, but also all that is righteous and decent in the world with his sick mockery of facial hair. From the Ray-Bans to the Yassir Arafat shirt in a language that he can’t read, this jerk has never done a sincere thing in his life. He should be pinned to the ground and have his facial hair forcibly plucked out one by one.
siked to see you dudes jam, been a couple of years, Peaking Lights had really good things to say. that LP still around? Robert gave me a CDR recent, its cool. See you on the Road.
