Cady Finlayson specializes in "Spirited Irish fiddle with a global twist", blending traditional Irish fiddle tunes with American folk and world music influences.
She has fiddled in places such as Carnegie Hall, Cleveland's State Theatre, the Brooklyn Museum of Art and 33 states. Her playing can also be heard in films ("The Emerald Diamond", "Snakes and Ladders", Random Acts") and even an exercise video (Eirerobics.com). Cady's three CDs have attracted listeners from Australia to Japan. Her latest CD, "Irish Coffee" was called "delightful and spirited" and was nominated for Best Celtic CD by the 2007 NAR lifestyle awards. Cady holds a Master of Music degree from Mannes College of Music in New York City and has played since her childhood in Seattle.
Cady performs both as a duo (Cady Finlayson & Vita Tanga) and also with her full band. The Cady Finlayson Band performs at concerts and private functions. Her talented bandmembers include Dublin-born singer Marina Meyler, French guitarist Vita Tanga, accordian player John Redmond and Tim Alworth on percussion. In addition to her live shows with her own band, Cady works as a recording artist and plays for
the Police Pipes and Drums of Bergen County.
