Called "one of Americas top Celtic fiddlers" by New Age Voice magazine and "bursting with pure and natural talent" by HotIndieNews.com, Cady Finlayson offers a spirited fiddle show with a global twist. Cady's music blends traditional Irish tunes with worldbeat rhythms and American folk, creating a signature sound that appeals to a variety of audiences.
"I love to bring Irish music to people who might not normally hear it", Cady says.
Cady has fiddled in places such as Carnegie Hall, Cleveland's State Theatre, the Brooklyn Museum of Art and 30 states. Her playing can also be heard in films ("The Emerald Diamond", "Snakes and Ladders", Random Acts") and even an exercise video (Eirerobics.com). Cady's three CDs blend traditional fiddle tunes with American folk roots and have attracted listeners from Australia to Japan. Her latest CD, "Irish Coffee" was called "delightful and spirited" and was nominated for Best Celtic CD by the 2007 NAR lifestyle awards. Cady holds a Master of Music degree from Mannes College of Music in New York City and has played since her childhood in Seattle.
Her band, The Cady Finlayson Band performs for concerts and private functions throughout the East Coast. Her talented bandmembers include Dublin-born singer Marina Meyler, French guitarist Vita Tanga, accordian player John Redmond and Tim Alworth on percussion. In addition to her full band, Cady also performs as a fiddle/guitar duo

The Northwest is also one of my favorite retreats, mostly for ocean kayaking, although I did manage to get to NYC last year and walked across the Brooklyn Bridge, which was a lifelong goal.
