These were shot from fans on hand held cams and camera phones in the crowd. We know the sound is TERRIBLE but the clips are from our show @ Studio7 & should give you an idea of the kind of energy CALBREA puts out live. We'll put up some of the "pro" footage of our shows after it's all edited.
KALUS (CAL-LOUS): Hardened, indurated, hardened in mind, insensible,
unfeeling, unsusceptible
Out of the ashes of a forgotten era arises a new band to the scene; a band that has been writing, recording, and patiently waiting to take its next step forward. Taking the best of the past and combining it with the best of what is new, CALBREA brings great songwriting back in a mix that includes intensity and heartfelt lyrics, combined with a brutal execution in a live show.
At the foundation of CALBREA is a rhythm section that is often described as “machine like.” Kieth Hastreiter (drums) and Ed Chatterton (bass) combine aggressive double bass patterns with intricate, creative bass lines to perform as standouts in an industry that usually highlights guitar players. Building off the organized chaos in the rhythm section, guitarist Matt Williams lays down the musical direction and depth that is CALBREA. In a scene full of iconic players, Williams is persistent at delving into complex rhythms and driving sections, while remaining focused on the changes that give the songs their own individuality. Front man Rick Norris delivers crushing vocal intensity through his unique blend of aggressive screaming and melodic creativity. With the combination of powerful vocals and intense lyrics, Norris adds even more depth into the complexity that is CALBREA’s sound.
A product of the Pacific Northwest, CALBREA is based out of Bellingham, Washington, a small community north of Seattle near the Canadian border. CALBREA is breaking ground as a newer up and coming metal band in a genre that isn’t supported and has been disregarded until recently. Having just finished their Godhevd Mvchine EP, CALBREA plans to follow up their latest effort with a West Coast tour. With an appeal that surpasses its genre, look for CALBREA at a venue near you.

3 years ago my mother was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis or ALS, better known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. At that time, like most people, I had only "heard of" Lou Gehrig's Disease but had no idea what it was. Today, my mother's only got 2 weeks to 2 months left to live. She's lost her speach & ability to move 90% of her body while her brain remains fully thinking and emotional.
Please help me raise the world's awarness of ALS while making a few bucks to help find a cause/cure.
Rock Out ALS is a 12 band, 12 hour All AGES show for a Suggested Donation of only $5.00
Hello, my friend. Another Tankism to brighten your week. Hope it helps :)
Look at life from the perspective of what you have NOW, what you are grateful for NOW. If you continue to look into the PAST as to what you have lost, when you open your PRESENT, you will not like what you get. However, by focusing firmly on where you are directing your FUTURE by thinking on those things which are good and pure and what you do want to happen, as you unfold your PRESENT, you will find the gift that you know you really want. And, it really is that simple. As a wise person once said: If you believe you can't, you're rightif yet if you believe you CAN, you're right. What do you believe? :)
