Candice Night has been the lead singer of the Renaissance Folk Rock Band : Blackmore's Night since 1997. She began singing background vocals for Deep Purple in 1993; and writing lyrics and singing backups for Rainbow in 1995. She met husband and co founder of Blackmore's Night , Ritchie Blackmore, in 1989 while she was working at a radio station on Long Island NY. They met at a charity soccer match between Deep Purple and the radio station.
Since then, Candice has received numerous gold records and other awards with both Rainbow and Blackmore's Night. She is the singer, lyricist and multi-instrumentalist of Blackmore's Night and plays 9 types of renaissance instruments. Within her words and music you can find an escape from the stress and pressures of the modern day world. Close your eyes and let her bring you to a world of magic, romance and beauty. Legends, myths and fairytales live in her lyrics. She has helped animal and environmental charities worldwide with benefits from her concerts. She also was crowned "Faerie Queen" when she graced the cover of Faerie Magazine in 2007. She portrays 2 characters in the interactive theme park : Magiquest www.magiquest.com and lives on interactive video screens throughout the parks nationwide and in Japan as Princess Candice and Princess Amora. Her voice can be heard on duets with Helloween; Tarja (of Nightwish) and in the Rock Opera : Story of Aina as Oria. Blackmore's Night's 7th studio cd -The Secret Voyage- remains in the top of Billboards New Age charts since its release in July 2008. I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
