'It was only 9 p.m. on opening night when I hit my first pay dirt of this year’s SXSW in Austin: Capsula a kinetic trio from Bilbao, Spain — singer-guitarist Martin Guevara and bassist Coni Duchess, the band’s founding couple, are originally from Argentina — who were supposed to be obsessed with the Velvet Underground (according to a newspaper preview) but were actually a high-velocity union of the Cramps and the Who, coated in corroded glam. Guevara attacked his guitar with a serious case of Pete Townshend, and drummer Alberto Diez was an improbable mix of Keith Moon and the Velvets’ Maureen Tucker: flash with heartbeat. In the last song of the set, a furious space-out that sounded like the Who doing Pink Floyd’s “Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun,” Guevara swallowed his mike Lux Interior-style and scraped his guitar strings along the edge of the stage. You don’t get those visuals with Capsula’s new album, Rising Mountains (BCore), but you get the idea — and everything I heard.'

Formed in 1997 to produce hallucination & enlightment, these live sexy animals on stage, hailing from the streets of South America mix their raw noise and sonic sounds in a hyper exciting live act.
Capsula is a band from Buenos Aires located in Bilbao. Their name is the spanish word for Capsule and derives from the David Bowie song Space Oddity and The Jean Genie.
Influenced by 60's South American psychedelic rock and garage and American alternative rock they have released eps, albums, played festivals, toured UK, Europe and South America.
In 2008 and 2009 they played at SXSW.
They recorded their first european release (and their fourth album), titled Songs & Circuits, in 2007 with Madrid-based indie label, Discos Liliput.
A review of Capsula's album Songs & Circuits describes it as 'Garage rock for the 21st Century'.

...Capsula (late of Buenos Aires, now waiting to conquer the world from Bilbao), succeeded in grabbing my attention right from the start. Singing in English the three-piece (two guys and a girl) have a great sound that features elements of The Mono-Men (’Found And Lost’), Monster Magnet (’Wild C’, criminally too short) and Sonic Youth in Krautrock mode (’Magnetic Brain’). The main fact is they’re one of those great bands that sound like all their influences at virtually the same time and yet concoct a sound all of their own from out of that sonic soup...

Radar, agrupación conformada por Andrés Gormaz, Claudio Baeza, Cristián Verscheure y Sebastián Bravo, anuncia el lanzamiento de su disco debut Fiesta Freak! y su primer video clip.
Radar, que debutó en agosto de 2007, ha tocado en los escenarios más importantes de la capital y obtuvo el segundo lugar a nivel nacional en el concurso Art Festival La Batidora de Inacap en 2008. Este año abrió los dos shows en Chile del ex R.E.M. y músico de sesión de Ringo Starr, Ken Stringfellow.
Fiesta Freak! recoge el trabajo de esta banda rock pop; canciones alegres, bailables y para todo público. Fue producido por Juan Manuel Méndez, ex Jirafa Ardiendo y grabado, mezclado y masterizado en Estudio Primate por Nicolás Moreno (Jirafa Ardiendo).
La cita es para el Sábado 25 de julio a las 23 horas en Bar El Clan, Bombero Núñez 363, Barrio Bellavista. La entrada tiene un costo de dos mil pesos, habrá un cocktail de bienvenida, invitados especiales y fiesta con el DJ Felipe Palma.

También hizo importantes colaboaciones junto a The Clash (Sandinista), XTC o Matthew Sweet entre otros. El día 3 nos visita en la Sala Tropicana Club de Santoña con Cápsula como banda, con la cual ha grabado el álbum "The Naked Flame" el cuál presentarán en directo junto a la banda local The White Radars.
