Ok, let's see if I remember all this shit:
Captain 9's & the Knickerbocker Trio was formed in Williamsport PA (home of Little League Baseball and Shop-Vac) in 1983 as a 2-piece. Tom Hutchison on vocals and guitar, and Lee Ash on drums. They played a handful of shows at Barry's 3rd St. Sandwich Shop, the only place in town that would let them play.
They added Mark "Drillpress" Mahosky on bass soon after, and he was replaced by Subarton. They recorded and released a handful of 7" records, which were later compiled on a San Francisco label as an lp, "Scum of the Earth". They also played 2 west coast shows, one at Old Ironsides in Sacramento, and one at Gilman St. in Berkeley, opening for Neurosis and Econochrist. (yeah, I know...)
They eventually broke up in the mid-90's, when all 3 members forgot to show up to practice. It happens.
This page was started because of enough requests that were made about the Capt. 9's catalog being released on cd.
There will be a limited run of cd's released, entitled, "Happy Now???". They can be purchased only at Knockoffs shows, so if you want one, I suggest you get your ass out to a show. Find out when the Knockoffs are playing here: www.myspace.com/theknockoffsrule .
For those of you who have never heard Capt. 9's & the Knickerbocker Trio before, keep in mind: They didn't know what the fuck they were doing.
Enjoy!

never expected to see an old punk band from williamsport, also surprised to see you guys play in the bay area which is another place i lived for a month. sounds good though. this place is dead.
It's a good thing I haven't checked this in a while because I got the second message first. Otherwise, everything I've ever hoped and dreamed for would have been a lost cause. Well I suppose it is anyway, haha.
Things are going well..another (uneventful this time around) semester's worth of Punk Rock Radio has come and gone. If you're interested, myself and a good friend, Ray (who is the one who told me about Capt. 9s) are doing a winter show at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove PA starting this Wednesday. The show is from 7 - 11 pm Western time (10 - 2 am for us).
As for the show, well, I'd love to and I'll say this..I can't think of anything better to spend my tax return on..
Stay in touch!
ps..We'd love to hear from you on the Winter show! The link is www.wqsu.com
Hey, Tom. How've you been? First of all, I'm in love with the two Knickerbocker Trio 7"s I've been lucky enough to come across in the past few months. I especially love the handwritten stuff on the sleeve. Anyway, a few friends and I just started a zine (in case you haven't seen the bulletins), and I wondered if you'd like a copy. The first issue is a "free promo issue" and after that, I'm pretty sure we're going to charge "a donation," which could really be anything. Let me know!
Also, if you're not busy tomorrow, it's my last show of the semester, and it comes complete with two (and maybe three!) live performances. It promises to be a great time.
i might have a live recording on video.... let me take a look around. if i find it i will put it on youtube. thank you for making that song though, its a personal favorite of mine.
ah okay xD but that's cool that you still play shows together. So you are a long-time musician... Tom, have you already seen "The Wrestler"?? I just got a mail that Bret Hart is coming over to Germany this year :o] that's great!
haha Tom, in how many bands are you actually in!?!is there another one I need to know? xD but hey you look cool with long hairs and your glasses :) I really was like "damn it this guy looks like Tom!but no way..he can't be in 3 bands at the same time xD" I was wrong!
