Sounds Like
Dar Williams with even more words. Joni Mitchell in (mostly) standard tuning. Vashti Bunyan with a sense of cynicism. Herself.
Carey Farrell likes to sing. Sometimes, she sings her own songs, about kindergarten romance and grocery store girls and asparagus. Sometimes, she sings songs by other people, like Joni Mitchell and the Monkees and David Bowie. And sometimes, she just likes to sing about the wheels on the bus, and how they go round and round, round and round, all thru the town.
Carey likes to sing for big people, small people, and all the people in between. And she will sing anywhere she can. No, really, just about anywhere, as long as people will be nice to her and listen--coffeehouses, churches, farmer's markets, birthday parties, street corners, living rooms, festival campsites, you name it. Maybe you would like Carey to sing for you sometime. I bet she'd be happy to do it, and I should know.

Thanks for finding me and my music out here in space! Your songs are so sweet. I'll be touring through the Chi again this fall and would love to play for you. I think the show will be near to Thanksgiving.
Goovie! It was so nice to see you'd left a message for me. You look tres happy and it looks good on you. I hope to come to Chicago soon, but right now I'm smelling roses, having stopped by the roadside to enjoy them. Stay green, pony! And say hey to yer man!
