    CARNERO starts to take shape in mid-2005 when Marcelo "1070" (Guitar) and Marcelo "Dimebag" (Drums), spoke one day and decided to get together to jam and see what could come along after many years of playing but always in different bands. Marcelo "1070" and Marcelo "Dimebag" had some loose riffs and ideas, and gradually were giving way to some new songs. Seeing that the compositional aspect got along and the musical differences could be merged into a single genre, both had agreed to lead the composition a little more seriously, trying to build more tracks, and thinking logically to include a singer and a bass player in this new project. "1070" proposed to call Roberto "Trumble", for vocals and growls, with whom he had shared a Black Metal project, much earlier. The three of us got together one day and went to a rehearsal room, heard the songs and then Trumble decided to be part of the band, so after that, the composition of songs was much easier and the routine of rehearsals became more dynamic and fun. During 2006 and part of 2007, the band was virtually stopped, due to some very serious family prob- lems of Marcelo Dimebag. When the rehearsals came back again, in mid-2007, another band-member was added, David, who played as 2nd guitar. We started playing the songs we had written so far and some covers of bands we like. So in that way, the whole thing was reactivated. Some time later, due a musical differences, David left the band, leaving the guitars only for Marcelo "1070", a fact that made the band return to the original concept of writing more aggressive songs, but at the same time, simple songs. It defined the sound of the band, and lead to the idea that, somehow, return to the "Old School Metal", that we used to hear in the 80's and 90's. The new idea was to compose songs that were very heavy but without losing the old "song struc- ture", returning to style set by bands that influenced us most: Black Sabbath, Motörhead, Judas Priest, AC / DC, Exodus, Slayer, Pantera, Sepultura, just to name a few. With that in mind, we con- tinued writing and rehearsing, but still needed a bass player. After auditioning several bassists, Rodrigo appeared. Rodrigo "Punk" is a guitarist, and comes from playing another musical genre, Punk-Rock, obviously. But as Rodrigo was also a heavy-metal fan, he hooked up with the proposal and finally hung up the "4 strings" and joined CARNERO on bass. So, the band was complete. 2008, 2009 and the half of 2010, had passed between the composition of new songs and several live shows in Capital and Buenos Aires. And after having done a couple of homemade demos, and after several twists and turns, in mid- 2010, decided to make a professional recording. So, between late 2010 and early 2011, faced and forced that idea and finally made an EP, for con- tinuing the logical steps of any band. As a matter of costs and time we chose to record few tracks but with the better audio quality that could be achieved under the conditions that CARNERO had at that time and trying to achieve a sound to define CARNERO in the best possible way. And thinking logically, in to trying to spread the record a little more, looking for new places to play live shows and new people who may be interested in what CARNERO is doing today.
