In November of 2008, a group of friends got together with the goal of creating something that their local scene was missing out on. Something different, that combined their youth and their passion for music. The answer came in the form of a band. The band became known as Carousel Kings.

After forming and writing their first four song demo, released in January of 2009, the band began to play shows, building an impressive resumé filled with the likes of Set Your Goals, Fireworks, The Bled, Sky Eats Airplane, and Alesana. The demo received more than 10,000 downloads on PureVolume and landed the band in the charts on the site ahead of bands such as A Day to Remember and Hey Monday. The year ended with two tours and a fire burning in their heart.

In the summer of 2010, Carousel Kings went into the studio with Carson Slovak (ArmsBendBack, Century, Atrium Audio) and Grant McFarland (This or the Apocalypse) to record their first full-length album. After a grueling summer of writing, recording, and playing shows, the band finished their first, self-titled album in August. The album was titled Speak Frantic and released October 19, 2010.

What does the future hold for Carousel Kings? Andrew Zell, bass player for the band, says "the next year for us is huge. We want to tour, meet new friends and fans, and spread Lancaster's pop punk to everyone we can."

A healthy goal for a band who just graduated from high school.
