About CASACA

HISTORICO
Formed in January 2000, in Vila Velha, Espírito Santo, CASACA is basically a regional pop-rock group. The group has already released five CDs (two by Sony Music) with sales over a hundred thousand copies and it is seen by many as one of the most creative groups in the Brazilian musical scenery. Recycling and melting Congo’s rhythmical elements (an African folklore manifestation), the band is known for the amazing energy that it puts on their concerts. Based on percussion instruments, using Congo drums as the lead sound, and with a rock and roll beat, Casaca pours on an explosive, impressive, contagious and crowd pleasing sound mixture. With more than 80 shows a year, Casaca always amazes where it plays, collecting praises from the main musical critics in Brazil and making the headlines newspapers, which always highlight its percussion as the fundamental and differential characteristic of the band. With its own songs, Casaca has had one smash radio hit after another in markets where it has performed, a sound evidence that it dominates the way to mix the elements of pop music, regionalism, local traditions, the modern and popular.
