Casey Hess is a Chicago-based singer/songwriter who's into juxtapositions: acoustic and electric, indie and pop, handmade and slick. After the dissolution of his three-piece indie-rock outfit Asher Love, Hess retreated to his basement studio to write and record his debut solo outing, the 12-song "Love Live Tragedy," to be released this year on his own Mission from Dog imprint. Hess spent more than a year assembling the songs and played all the instruments on the disc. He was assisted by the versatile Chicago producer and musician Areos Ledesma (Local H, Kevin Tihista's Red Terror, The Pulsars).
