Old analogue and trashy keyboards, pop melodies and a theatre troupe make up the container of love that is Casiokids. Apart from doing an extensive tour in Norwegian kindergardens, Casiokids has also played for indiekids in France, England, Denmark and Norway since 2005. The band sprung out of an idea of experimenting with the live format for electronic music, and has now developed into being a collective of theatre blended with pop melodies often sung in their native language.
After the release of debut album "Fück MIDI!" in 2006 the band is now working on a project that includes the creation of their own animated rain forest together with the theatre group Digitalteateret led by Aslak Helgesen. The music draws similarities and take inspiration from Paul Simon's "Graceland", Ivor Cutler, King Tubby, Bob hund and Jens Lekman.
The band has played several renowned festivals and venues in Norway, England, Denmark and France, including Roskilde Festival (Roskilde, Denmark 2008), Great Escape Festival (Brighton, UK 2008), City Showcase (London, UK 2008), Luminaire (London, UK 2008 w/Matt & Kim), Sous La Plage Festival (Paris 2007), La Fleche d'Or (Paris 2007), ÿya (Oslo, Norway 2008+2006), Ekko (Bergen 2005), NuMusic (Stavanger 2005 w/ Jamie Lidell, K.Stockhausen, Datarock, Carl Craig++), Elektroni(k) Festival (Rennes 2005), La Lune Des Pirates (Amiens 2005), La Guinguette Pirate (Paris 2005), Vossajazz (2005 w/Jaga Jazzist++), Festspillene (Bergen 2005+2007) and By:larm (Stavanger 2005 & Oslo 2008) to name a few.
