Celeste Lear's Boutique Electronique Records is proud to release:
"It would only seem fitting that the granddaughter of the man who invented the 8 Track Cassette Player would have music in her genes" Editor - Reno Gazzette Journal
"Lear is an artist and producer with an edgy, intricate vision." - Music connection Magazine
"On Celeste's gripping and tantalizing debut album The Echo Inside she complements her laid-back downtempo electronica with dynamic vocals that ring with harmonic clarity. The beats are exploratory and dont rely on the time tested normally dull breaks that so many artists turn towards and funkiness is hidden behind several soundscape layers that finds Celeste whispering of tales that are fantastical yet somehow not too far from reality. Beautiful and engaging from the get-go. - Editor, Smother Magazine
Fusing loop based electronic genres of music with jazz, rock and pop, Celeste Lear creatively and skillfully melds modern music production with classic songwriting styles resulting in a tantalizing sonic smorgasbord that is sophisticated, moody and truly on the cutting edge. An accomplished vocalist, guitarist, DJ and music programmer with a degree in sound engineering and her own recording studio, Celeste writes tasty downtempo and drum and bass inspired electronica with wicked beats, luscious layering and meaningful, poetic lyrics for today's modern listener.
"Her voice and on camera presence are as dramatic and expressive as her music. With a rich mix of world/electronica/trip-hop'ish/dance and a flair for counterpoint Celeste Lear is a virtual smith of the arts who knows how to hammer out audio and visual delight." Frank Gaultier - Independent Music Artists - "A Cherry pickers Journal"
"Lear is an artist/producer with an edgy and intricate vision." Music Connection Magazine
"Celeste Lear is a hot new artist fusing her programming, guitar playing and vocal skills into some sexy downtempo electronic music." Music Reviewer, AboutEntertainment.com
This up and coming electronic musician, multi instrumentalist and vocalist has recently emerged from Los Angeles' underground music scene with a sound all her own that truly depicts today's female artist in the music industry. An independent label owner, a music producer with a degree in sound engineering and a passionate and skilled musician to match, Celeste is an artist with a drive and talent to match any producer or musician on a major label.
Following a long line of musical groundbreakers from Topanga Canyon, Los Angeles, her hometown, Celeste continues to break the confines of gender-labels in Rock and Electronic music by creatively fusing together the musical styles of downtempo, drum and bass and trip hop electronica with alternative rock, pop and jazz and her soulful and skillful electric and acoustic guitar playing and adds color and melody to loop based electronic compositions. Her music has been likened to artists like Bjork, Morcheeba, Theivery Corporation, Beck, Moby, Dido, POE, Zero 7, Lamb and Portishead.
Celeste comes from a world famous creative and enterprising family that has left an incredible legacy in aviation and the music recording industry; "It would only seem fitting that the granddaughter of the inventor of the 8-Track cassette would have music in her genes." (Editor, Reno Gazette Journal). Yes, it’s true, Celeste is the granddaughter of William P. Lear esteemed inventor of the Lear Jet AND the 8 Track cassette and the Lear’s family’s ingenuitive genes definitely live on as shows in Celeste’s naturally driven nature and creative music compositions. Another unique fact about Ms. Lear, is that she is completely deaf in one ear from a car accident! Lovingly dubbed "One Ear Lear" by her friends, Celeste went on to study sound engineering and music theory and go on to become an accomplished music producer, mix engineer and DJ.
Celeste has 4 current releases on her label Boutique Electronique Records, including 2 compilation CDs called Digital Bliss Volumes 1 and 2, has done remixes for Natasha Bedingfield, Shannon Hurley, StereoCell, etc, is featured on many national radio stations like SOMA FM and Pandora Radio, has won 1st place in the dance category for the Pacific Songwriting Competition, and had a song placed on a popular compilation CD called "Femme Fatales" (Toucan Cove Records) featuring "The 12 Leading Ladies of Electronica" that includes music by DJ Collette, MIA and Jan Johnston. She has also recently collaborated with producer Carmen Rizzo.
Celeste's independent label has released 4 albums now available at iTunes, Cd baby and all digital retailers. She is currently touring as a solo electronic laptop based artist and working on her 3rd solo album in San Francisco, California.

Every Christmas season, I find myself wondering, what kind of a kid was Jesus? I mean, after he got himself out of the manger? We shot this video in 1992 with my daughter Willow. It's won some awards and is used in churches, temples & Sunday school classes. It addresses homelessness and caring for each other on this planet. It's called WHEN JESUS WAS A KID. Feel free to pass this on to friends and family. Happy, merry, warm and loving holidays to you and your loved ones. Bye for now - Peter Alsop
Just dropping you a note to tell you that I am having an awesome e.p. release party at the Echo Curio this Sunday, April 5th at 9pm. Hope you can make it!
