So Chasing Cadence started out as 4 guys who were great friends at the Master's College in Santa Clarita, California. It was like a game of '4 Degrees of Separation' because all of them had played music with another member of the band, or known them in some regard previous to the actual forming of the group. It began in Fall 2006 when they played music as the 'Chapel Band' for the Master's College each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning. They got the invite from Darin McWatters from 'Everybody Duck' to come and be the Jr. High band up at Hume Lake for summer 2007. Through miraculous circumstances, shifting of schedules, and God-directed occurrences, they were able to carve out a whole summer to be 'Chasing Cadence.' During the months leading up to summer, the boys were busy writing new songs, and arranging older original songs to create the album "Awake O' Sleeper." They recorded up at Hume Lake's "Lakeside Studio" with the help of producer/engineer/orchestrator Brian Steckler. They are currently up at Hume Lake for 11 weeks of the summer and enjoying every minute up in the beautiful mountain air. 'Chasing Cadence' exists so that the gospel would be understood and accepted, that there would be an excellence in musical and lyrical content, and that God would be glorified through each musical worship set and in the lives of each member.
The band is composed of Patrick Carmichael (vox, guitar) who recently graduated with a major in Biblical Exposition from the college. Ryan Patterson (guitars) has one more year left in school with a major in Biblical Exposition. David Zimmer (drums/percussion) has 2 more years left in school with a major in Percussion Performance. Ryan Foglesong (bass) also recently graduated with a major in Music Theory/Composition from the college. This myspace site is 100% operated and updated by the band, so feel free to send us your questions, comments, or criticisms.
