Chaz Kangas is the MC Hip-Hop fans have been unknowingly saving their money for. From the mysterious yet cutting-edge music metropolis known as Minneapolis, Minnesota, Chaz combines the musicality of Prince with the swagger of Morris Day and fuses it with Hip-Hop influences on a National level to create a truly unique charisma all his own. Having spent eleven years paying his dues and earning accolades amongst the underground audience, Chaz's incomparable live show and subject matter has earned him the title of "a bittersweet rebel MC." (Citypages) Riding the success of his new album "Knee Jerk Reaction," which launched with one of the highest attended instore performances in the history of New York's famed FatBeats Records, Chaz's star is one of the fastest rising in all of the independent Hip-Hop market. The past 3 years have seen him open the final Hip-Hop show ever at historic New York club CBGB's, be featured as XXL's Adam Bernard's Artist of the Week, be highlighted on National Public Radio's coverage of the Rap-Based New York Subway Series as "one of the best freestylers" the city had to offer, winning the Twin Cities Celebration of Hip-Hop MC Battle, the largest annual rap battle in Minnesota and having the final in-store performance at New York City's famed Virgin Megastore. Putting out music since 1999 at the tender age of 13, Chaz has managed to balance school and extracurricular activities while still accomplishing more each year than some artists do in their entire career. He has appeared on BET in their "Starz in Black" documentary on underground Hip-Hop, took part in the highest testing battle on the top-rated British Hip-Hop show JumpOffTV, had his music featured in nationally distributed theatrically released horror film "Raising the Stakes" and is a twelve-time victor of the SinSin Off-the-Head Game Show battle, one of the most respected and competitive battle tournament in New York City. Chaz has also won back-to-back victories at the annual NYU Campus battle, Brooklyn's A-to-Z MC Battle, and Fordham University's City-Wide Showdown and vanquishing an opponent on a worldwide level in Grind Time, the world's most watched street battle program! This reputation has allowed Chaz to share the stage with the likes of Mr. Lif, DMC, Naughty by Nature, Slow Suicide Stimulus, Rob Sonic, Poison Pen, Eyedea and Abilities, Creature, Louis Logic, J-Zone, LIFElong, Iron Solomon, C-Rayz Walz, the Juggaknots, Just Ice and Gnarls Barkley.
