SpaghettiO's, first introduced on October 19, 1965, are a brand of food that consist of small circular pasta suspended in cheese and tomato sauce, originally manufactured by Franco-American. They have a sweet, cloying taste that most people seem to lose a liking for once they become adults, but kids seem to enjoy them greatly. Besides the "plain" (pasta and sauce only) version, other varieties of SpaghettiO's include miniature meatballs ("With Meatballs" possibly being the most well-known variety of the brand, and the one most often featured in advertisements) or "franks" (formed pieces of processed meat intended to resemble slices of sausage or hot dogs) along with the pasta and sauce.
SpaghettiO's were the creation of Ralph Miller, who worked for Franco-American, a line of Campbell's Soup Company. The different-shaped pasta O's in sauce are marketed towards, and popular among, children especially; they also see service amongst college students on a budget, owing to their low price and ease of preparation.
SpaghettiO's were also widely known thanks to clever marketing campaigns, like the one featuring Oscar Robertson and the "Uh-oh! Spaghettios!" jingle.
Although SpaghettiO's were sold under the Franco-American brand since their invention, on November 19, 2004, Campbell's announced they were discontinuing the Franco-American brand. SpaghettiO's are now marketed under the Campbell's name
