    i thought we would get to meet in palm springs in may ...but unfortunately not..(i did get to see a preview of the shag store opening but had to leave for my own birthday bash that night)
    don't think i ever told you...my father is an architect did great designs for the 64/65 world's fair and expos over the years...i grew up with all the great designers saarinen, noguchi, eames, etc. i am obsessed with mid century modern living the fashion music and designs of the 50's and 60's...now if only i could build a little time travel machine....hmmm.....

    i was in palm springs over the may 8th weekend and was hoping to see you at the shag gala...i was fortunate to get into the new store for a pre 6pm peek as they were still getting things together for the night but unfortunately i had to get back to the hotel and get ready for my birthday bash...i heard everyone had a great time! sorry i missed it...

About me:

My life is a world of vintage and neo-retro inspired fashion, tikis and exotica music, low-brow art, classic cars, and Las Vegas Rat Pack era shenanigans.

I was born in the late 1960s on an uncharted desert isle somewhere near Hawaii. I am the daughter of the brilliant chemist and teacher Professor Roy Hinkley, Jr. and movie star Ginger Grant who were stranded on this island for fourteen years. Everyone suspected that after living together so many years marooned on an island, something was bound to happen and I'm the living proof! And with such great genes, I inherited a mix of brains, beauty and talent.

I have since served as the Queen of the infamous Pasadena Doo Dah Parade and had 5 seconds of fame on the Tonight Show (4:55 to go!). I love to paint and have been featured in group shows alongside my good friend Shag. I also write a Modern Lifestyle advice column for Tiki Magazine, Java's Bachelor Pad Magazine and CA Modern Magazine.

I have sung with the Mai Kai Gents, King Kukulele and the Thurston Howlies. I was the headliner for Mondo Tiki at the Hard Rock Hotel and performed at the recent Mondo Lounge Atomic Frolic.
