Stefi and Karima thought up Cherry Lips while they were still in high school in Verona. They had no doubts about the kind of band they wanted: very young and strictly girls only but with a classic rock sound that would draw its inspiration from Ac/Dc, Aerosmith, The Who. All the songs would be in English, which wasn’t a problem since Stefania Parks (voice and guitar) is a mothertongue English speaker, daughter of the English novelist, Tim Parks.
It wasn’t easy. After trying out various line-ups, Serena finally took over on drums while Elisa arrived from Trento to give the band a first class guitar soloist. With the professional expertise of Fabio Serra (Opal Arts Studio) the debut cd was ready at the beginning of 2008. Under the vintage rock lablel Andromeda Relix a limited vynl-look run was printed off for distribution at concerts with a series of ‘polaroids’ of the girls in place of the usual booklet.
Since March 2008 the band has been playing all over Italy (including a prestigious appearance at the famous Thunder Road) and getting enthusiastic reviews in the specialized press and webmagazines. During the summer they won the IndieTime competition, which meant playing with The FutureHeads (July 3rd) on their only tour appearance in Italy. They were also one of the seven groups selected for Cornetto Algida’s Free Music Audition competition. That gave them the chance to open at Elisa’s concert at the Derby Theatre, Milan (July 2nd).
At the same time the band produced their first videoclip, “Mean, hot and nasty” which was immediately taken up by Rock TV, MusicBox, TeleNordEst, GetRocked, UnoTv, SulPalcoTv and TelevisioNet, and will soon be played on Yahoo! Music’s prestigious on-demand international channel.
On the 24th of October Venus distribution launches the cd in retail stores throughout Italy and on the 1st of February 2009 the band signes for the Swedish Rock label Swedmetal.
On March 27 the album is released Worldwide, Cherry Lips arrive 5th on the Swedish Charts.
Summer 2009 the band tours Italy, Serena leaves Cherry Lips, who decide to set aside the "absolutely all girl band" style and welcome Maicol Reale on Drums.

Le Cherry Lips nascono nel 2005 per volontà di Stefy e Karima tra i banchi di un liceo scientifico veronese. L’intento è preciso: quello di riuscire a formare una band interamente al femminile, giovanissima e con il sound del rock più classico (Ac/Dc, Aerosmith, The Who). Tutto rigorosamente in lingua anglosassone visto che Stefania Parks (voce e chitarra) è madrelingua inglese nonchè figlia del celebre scrittore Tim Parks.
Ma suonare pezzi originali rock da minorenni non è facile (provate a dirlo ai vostri genitori che vi regalano ancora la nuova Barbie?!). Dopo vari cambi di formazione si inserisce definitivamente Serena alla batteria mentre arriva da Trento Elisa alla chitarra solista.
Le Cherry Lips propongono uno show Glam carico di energia eseguito con il piglio sensuale ed aggressivo del rock al femminile.
Il loro cd di debutto è pronto all’inizio del 2008. Una prima tiratura limitata in versione cartonato “simil vinile” e con una serie “polaroid” delle ragazze al posto del booklet viene ora distribuita ai concerti grazie all’etichetta vintage rock Andromeda Relix.
Da Marzo 2008 sono in tour in tutta Italia per presentare il loro spettacolo (da segnalare l’esibizione al prestigioso Thunder Road) mentre iniziano ad uscire numerose recensioni su alcune riviste specializzate e webmagazine.
Durante l’estate vincono il concorso IndieTime aggiudicandosi l’apertura all’unica data italiana dei FuturHeads (3 Luglio) e sono tra i sette gruppi selezionati per il concorso FreeMusic Audition del Cornetto Algida guadagnandosi l’apertura al concerto di Elisa al Teatro Derby di Milano (2 Luglio).
In contemporanea viene realizzato e presentato il primo videoclip della band “Mean, hot and nasty” che entra subito in rotazione su Rock Tv, MusicBox, TeleNordEst, GetRocked, UnoTv, SulPalcoTv, TelevisioNet ed a breve sarà inserito nel prestigioso canale ondemand internazionale di Yahoo! Music.
Il 24 Ottobre il loro disco viene distribuito in tutta Italia da Venus ed il 1 Febbraio la band firma per l'etichetta svedese Swedmetal.
Il 27 Marzo il disco "Cherry Lips" viene distribuito in tutto il mondo e raggiunge presto il quinto posto nelle Chart svedesi.
Durante l'estate 2009 la band gira l'Italia in tour, Serena lascia le Cherry Lips, le quali decidono di cambiare l'impostazione "all girls" della band e danno il benvenuto a Maicol Reale alla batteria.
