Chisel formed in 1990 at the University of Notre Dame, playing its first gig at a football game tailgater. In 1994, the band reformed in Washington DC. Between 1994 and 1997, Chisel released an EP and singles collection Nothing New and two albums 8 AM All Day and Set You Free on Gern Blandsten Records. The band toured with Fugazi, Make-Up, Velocity Girl, Fuzzy, Lungfish, Karate, Blonde Redhead, Tuscadero and shared bills with Radiohead, the Cranberries, the Lemonheads, Steel Pulse, King Face, Slant 6, Sleater-Kinney and many more. In 1997, the band broke up midway through touring for its second full-length album. Chisel played its last show in Knoxville, TN on May 16, 1997.
Sorry, Chisel is not booking shows at this time. We are, however, looking for video footage or live/radio audio recordings of Chisel. Please message us if you are in possession of such material.
