Formed in 2001 on the Isle of Bute as a humble 3-piece rock band, Chi Weapon have since re-located to Glasgow and evolved into a genre-defying quartet.
Mixing many styles of music to create a funky brew the band have been wowing audiences in Glasgow at venues like King Tuts as well as throughout Britain, including the famous Wickerman Festival and the Carling Academy in Islington, London. Influences range from the Meters to the Mars Volta, Prince to Pink Floyd. Haven't heard Chi Weapon? Imagine rock songs played by a funk band with a left-field record collection.
“Chi Weapon is a centre left funked up new act whose lead singer needs all of the stage to perform. " Sid Ambrose, Wickerman Festival
“...fast, energetic and captivating, the atmosphere was electric.” Evening Times
"Chi Weapon has an interesting sound - a bit of prog rock mixed with reggae. They are good musicians and the tunes are infectious!" News & Star

You may like to check out my recently released book - 100 Great Albums. It's a 220 page review of the best music recorded during the period 1965-08 featuring the Beatles,Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Sex Pistols, Joy Division, U2, Nirvana, Radiohead, the Strokes and many more!
My aim is to prolong the existence of something close to my heart, something currently under severe threat from the download generation - The Album! With the modern world increasingly more interested in cherry-picking individual tracks, it seems to me a great shame that the sacred long-player is losing its importance. I'm on a mission to save the album before it's too late.
If you click on the button below you can access further details about the book (including an option to preview some of the content) before deciding whether you want to buy. All the best Andy.

I heard you're playing this year at the Bute Jazz Festival? What a great weekend. I'll be there with a huge crowd for the Saturday and Sunday. It would be really great to catch up.
Forget that other rubbish you had planned for this weekend, diy, painting the cat etc, going out to some booooring club with booooring music and even more booooring people - this is where it's really at...
It's all happening at the new studio:
