Chris Lock is a singer/songwriter/performer based in beautiful Lake Tahoe. His music is like a cocktail of Bruce Springsteen, Joey Ramone, with a shot of Tom Waits and Jack Johnson. He plays straight from the heart “scruff rock”.
His performances are passionate events that leave you with his songs stuck in your head. You can often find him playing at a cool bar, restaurant, coffee house, private party, beach blanket, or even on the occasional street corner (he loves being a busker).
In surprising development, during the summer of 2008 Velvet Revolver did not hire Chris to be their new lead singer.
He strives to play a mix of originals and covers that you will love après ski, at a party, in a bar or sitting on the beach laughing and drinking beer. He’s inspired by life, love, fun, pain, whisky, smart/sexy women, first tracks in the powder, bar owners who book great musicians, good friends, and family.
.................................The Chris Lock story……......................................................
Chris wrote his first song with his grandfather Jack when he was 3. Jack loved music. Chris’ dad and two uncles love and play music. As a kid he went to a fine arts school (think “Fame”) and learned to sing opera and perform. Then, his voice broke; he got his first guitar, discovered beer, bars, and babes. He and his buddies Johnny & Dave started a bunch of rock/punk/alternative bands in the standard teenage quest to meet chicks and become the next Rolling Stones. As they became young men a disease called adulthood overcame them. They got jobs, became responsible and then forgot about rock & roll.
.............One day not long ago, Chris woke up and decided to change it all. He bought a Gibson guitar, started playing/writing music again, and moved to beautiful Lake Tahoe started an epic quest to find a cure for adulthood.

This is what music is all about! As Guns 'n Roses guitar player Slash famously quipped: "Whenever society gets too stifling and the rules get too complex, there's some sort of musical explosion. "
