Gifted with a special voice and a crowd-pleasing confidence since childhood, Chris Loid has focused his whole life toward developing his own unique style of country music. His natural ability to interact with his audience has taken him from the Stillwater Community Church at the age of three, near Seattle, to Tootsie’s on Nashville’s Broadway.
His early inspirations were Travis Tritt, Willie Nelson, and Ray Charles, but his heart has always belonged to country music. Even as a teenager performing at clubs and sporting events, Chris worked hard to perfect his mix of Country, R&B and Southern Rock with a unique blend of vocal acrobatics complimenting his smooth, strong voice. With a sense of destiny and a personal drive to fulfill it, Chris always connects with his audiences and let’s his big voice speak for itself, from the very first note you feel his passion, presence and love for the music.
In 2004 Chris and his wife moved to Portland, Oregon so he could further his career. Two months later Chris achieved his goal of a recording contract and releasing two singles Ride Cowboy Ride & Not on My Watch. The songs went number one and top ten respectively on the northwest local independent country radio charts.
With a deep repertoire of songs, and great guitar licks, Chris takes his band to many venues across the Northwest and has gained many loyal fans with each performance.
In 2008 Chris started work on his upcoming release titled *Back Road Home* the heartfelt album finds Chris reaching to the depths of his soul searching for the answers on life and love. Below please find the track listing & Chris’s take on each song!
1. Heaven Can’t Wait Anymore
This song was inspired by that feeling when you meet that special someone and you know that there is something different about them. Kind of like that first real love and you start doing things that you normally wouldn’t do just to make them happy. This song is about the point in a relationship when you’re taking that next big step to further your commitment and love for each other. Heaven is the man’s metaphor for the way he feels about his woman. She is his version of heaven on earth.
2. Fishin’ In the Weeds
I come from the little town of Burbank in eastern Washington were it is mostly high desert country. My wife and I have always liked to fish so we would pack up our gear in the pickup and head down to the Snake River and chill. During the summer there it can get well past a hundred degrees and the river gets extremely warm so taken an evening swim is also a good way to relax while you’re fishing. Really the main reason we go is to just get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
3. Son of the Sticks
This song really is a testimony of who I am. I do believe in standing up for what’s right, the power of a mothers prayers for her children, and I do believe in our country. I think that most folks growing up in a similar way feel the same way I do Like Charlie Daniels said what this world needs is a few more red necks.
4. Without You
This song means a lot to me there’s was a time in me and my wife’s relationship before we got married where I had to make a decision either keep on with the single life or ask my wife to marry me and it didn’t take too long to figure out which path to take. It’s been the best decision I have ever made.
5. Light This Mother Up
It may not be right to some of you but everybody’s got to grow up somehow. when I got my license I got my first 4x4 ford truck and me and my buddy’s would go hang out at a place called road one hundred there was mud, sand, girls and fights good times were had by all. It’s a shame that now that place is covered up with houses. This song really takes me back to a time when I do believe now that I was literally crazy.
6. Back Road Home
I have always had a love for murder mysteries and horror movies and this was a little story I cooked up in my head about a guy that gets tired of his wife cheating, goes and finds her lover shoots him and leaves him somewhere on the back road home.
7. Long Night
This talks about those times when you look at your wife and you’re so glad that she is still with you even though she could have left so many times, she still turns you .. all these years and The stress of the world has got you beat up inside. That’s when you look at her and she knows you need some lovin’ and it’s gonna be a long night.
8. Runnin’ Away
This song is about that kind of heart break that messes up your head so bad that you can’t even be in the same town anymore because it has too many memories. I know I’ve experienced pain like that and it’s terrible but like everything else if you let it time heals all.
9. Loving You Forever
A really fun song for me to sing it’s good to change things up a little bit stylistically and push myself to find out what my limitations are so I can build on them in the future.
10. Love Is Never To Late
This song is all about forgiveness and how sometimes we need to let things go. Pain and hate are never worth hanging on to when sometimes a simple I’m sorry can fix a difficult problem. Giving or receiving forgiveness is sometimes one of the hardest things we can do but we should all strive to tell our family and friends how much we love them because there might come a day when there not around and it will be too late.
*Back Road Home* will be released in the first quarter of 2009

Hey Chris!!! Man, it's been a long time. I am so happy to see that you are doing so good. I have always been a big fan of yours. I hope I can make it to the Branding Iron next time you are there. Remember that time when we saw you and your mom and Price Chopper in Pasco and you sat in the truck with Jerad and I? We were talking about your ostriches. My mom and I were just talking about that the other day and she wondered where you were now and how you were doing. Maybe I can drag her out to see you too. Take care!!
