The story, in a nutshell:
On his own with an electric guitar, Chris Page sounds equal parts punk, rock and folk, and Billy Bragg is a common reference point. A closer listen reveals elements of Superchunk, Joe Strummer, and the urgent guitar calisthenics of Malcolm Young.
'A Date With A Smoke Machine' is Page's new full length album due May 2009 and it is chalk full of the usual folky poppy punk blended with highly textured tones. It is another stripped down raucous, yet diverse record that intertwines high energy nuggets with sparse ballads.
Chris Page has an enviable rock pedigree, which stretches back to the early 1990s, when he helped form Glengarry, Ontario, Canada's punk outfit The Stand GT. The Stand GT's blue collar DIY ethic was a thing of legend. The band toured Canada and the US countless times, releasing several records and CDs on various International labels.
As a solo perfomer, Page has three albums including 'You Clean Up Pretty Good', 'Sell Out Slow' and 'Decide to Stay and Swim'.
Page can also be heard fronting his new power pop trio 'Camp Radio' whose debut album in 2007 received critical acclaim.
