"The music within is gutsy...marking Flatt as a country-rock singer-songwriter worth keeping an eye on."
- Robert Baird, Magnet Magazine
I've had my initial listen and I'm thinking maybe Chrissie Hynde, Buddy Holly, Phil Spector, Del Shannon and Lucinda Williams met in a studio late at night and let the tape roll. Very cool.
- Michael Macdonald, Aussie
Flatt is a wide-open singing songwriter whose music is part folk, part country and part rock 'n' roll. She can serve it up tough and serve it up tender and make listeners want to hear both.
- Jim Beal, San Antonio - Express News 2004
"Chrissy Turns folk and country stylings into a lyrical journey with each song. Listen after listen her music evolves and remains earthy and interesting. On top of it all she's as genuine as her art."
- Terri Hendrix
Chrissy Flatt was born in Austin, Tx. and raised in Waco and San Antonio, Tx. Her influences range from Buddy Holly & Loretta Lynn to the Rolling Stones & The Ronettes while the music she writes and plays has been compared to earlier period Lucinda Williams and more recently Aimee Mann. In 2002 she released her debut "Wings of a Butterfly" which was well-received by the press and fans alike. Her second release, "Walk With Kings" is built on a foundation of 60s rocknroll essentials, framed by rootsy sensibilities and dressed with tasteful orchestrations. Produced by Eric Hisaw "Walk With Kings" reunites an A-list of musicians from her debut "Wings of a Butterfly" with Ron Flynt (20/20/ Walter Traggert) on bass, keyboards and vocals, Stephen Belans (Beaver Nelson) on drums, Brian Standefer (Patti Griffin/ Alejandro Escovedo) ..o and Eric Hisaw (Eric Hisaw Band) on guitar. Tom Semioli of Amplifier magazine says she is "romantically inclined and decidedly rootsy...she does approach her art with a classic 60's Greenwich Village singer-song-writer aesthetic that is pleasing, effective and ultimately refreshing." She's received press from Magnet Magazine, The Austin Chronicle, Texas Music, 3rd Coast Music, the Nashville Rage and Maverick of the UK among others. She has toured in Arkansas, Tennessee, Missouri (where she opened for Roger Cline & The Peacemakers), Kansas New Mexico and of course you can find her playing regionally around Texas.

CHRISSY, THIS IS IT, I have ONE LAST favor to ask you about this, could I? Since, as you might’ve heard, my picture won at the monthly level & Round 1, I got nominated for the LongHair Hawtie of the Year Finals (!) that ends today 7pm New York Time (can you just get it done now?) and... - was hoping for those 6 votes from you ;)
Yeah, you do need to get accepted as a friend of www.MySpace.com/OfficialLongHairHawties before you can vote, but they’re nice girls (the hawtie folks), no harm whatsoever :)
PS. since it would be so cool to win ‘by a landslide’ of like 7-800+ votes OVER and ABOVE over #2 guy (who will give us run for the money, he’s done that before!) - so, an 'evil' thought - maybe you can tell your friends to vote too? ;) Could you ask around?
