Christina Lux writes music from the soul. Since the release of her debut EP (She Is Me) in 1998, and the three classic albums that followed, this charismatic German-born songwriter has charmed and disarmed audiences around the world with her earthy delivery and tales of the human condition.Sometimes, her songs are creeping deep into our souls. At times, they're very honest. But they're never less than magnetic.

An intimate, cozy music club. The lights go on softly. On the stage a woman, two guitars and a microphone. An electric atmosphere in the auditorium and then the first notes: Christina Lux's voice enwraps the soul and brings sensually dark melancholy and touching joy to the ears with an extraordinary intimacy.
She dances between soul and folk, breaks out into multi-colored, percussive scat vocals and tells of journeys on the bumpy roads of her inner life. Of the courage to take the difficult road, straight through the pain, hopelessness and bitterness into a poetry, which suddenly lets everything happen, that make sense. Christina Lux asks uncomfortable questions, is political, critical, unadjusted - and yet she is no protest singer. She is too personal and fragile for that.

Die Bühne erhellt sich noch ein wenig mehr, wenn die Stimme von Christina Lux den Saal durchflutet, als öffneten sich Räume, in denen sich die Welt, und wenn auch nur für diesen Abend, verändern könnte.
Wer hier nun wen umschmeichelt, die Gitarre die Stimme oder umgekehrt, ist schwer zu sagen. Diese Stimme, die so enorm kraftvoll sein kann und im nächsten Moment ganz zart, fast zerbrechlich und das ungewöhnliche Gitarrenspiel der Autodidaktin verschmelzen zu einer höchst faszinierenden Einheit. "Ich brauchte ein Werkzeug um meine Songideen umzusetzen. Und da war diese Gitarre. So hat sich mein Stil entwickelt." sagt sie selbst.
Mit Hingabe und Leidenschaft erzählt sie von den Betrachtungen ihrer Innen,- und Außenwelt und berührt damit zutiefst. Sie tut das mit Charisma, Präsenz und Klarheit. Ihre Musik zelebriert sie mit starker Dynamik, dem Mut zu stillen Momenten, rhythmisch mitreißend und mit offenen, fließenden Akkorden, die ihrer großen Stimme viel Raum lassen.
Das verstärkt sich, wenn sie in einer improvisierten eigenen Sprache singt, verdichtet sich innig, fast spirituell. "Manchmal lote ich damit den Raum aus, erspüre, wo ich die Zuhörer abholen kann. Das ist ein intensiver Moment in den Konzerten."
Und dann sind da ihre Texte. Umwerfend offen, niemals aber entzaubernd, sondern eher wie ein Spiegel, in dem man sich selbst entdecken kann, wenn man denn will. Da taucht es auf, das "Müllkind" dessen Grenzen überschritten wurden, sowie die Frau, die den langen Weg zu innerer Freundschaft schon weit gegangen ist. Christina Lux' Betrachtungen zu Religion und zum Leben verbunden mit ihrer innigen Musik machen aus ihren Konzerten kleine philosophische Reisen.
Von 1994 bis1998 ist sie ein Teil der A-Capella Formation Vocaleros, mit denen sie zwei Alben veröffentlicht. 1998 verlässt sie die Band, konzentriert sich ganz und gar auf ihre eigenen Songs und ihre Gitarre, tourt in Deutschland, in der Schweiz, in Italien und Österreich, bringt sechs Alben heraus und macht sich einen Namen als Songpoetin. Das klingt nah und authentisch.
Christina Lux: eine feine Melange aus Folk, Soul und Jazzelementen, mit einer intensiven, großartigen Stimme und bewegenden Gedanken.
