Circle Studios is on a two-pronged mission: 1. to bring major label work out of London and into Birmingham; and, 2. to allow genuine Midlands talent to take advantage of a real pro-level studio's down-time to have their music actually sound like a record at a price at which they could previously only get a nasty demo recorded in a rehearsal-facility type studio. How are we going to do this? Using our Chief Engineer's 25 years of industry experience and by working in the best sounding studio outside of Air Lyndhurst, with a gear list that others can only envy, in the heart of Birmingham.
Designed (and currently being renovated by) Max Hodges, Circle Studios' new Protools HD based facility has a 600 square foot live room and two isobooths at its heart. In addition to Digidesign HD hardware and software, equipment at Circle Studios ranges from Neve, API, Chandler, Great River, A Designs and FMR Really Nice Preamps to industry standard EQ and compression from Teletronix, Crane Song, Manley, Urei, Chandler, Joemeek, Focusrite and dbx, Lexicon and TC Electronics reverbs and Marshall, Vox and Ampeg amplification. Software plugs-in include old standards courtesy of Universal Audio and Bomb Factory and cutting edge originals from McDSP. A/D conversion comes courtesy of Lynx Aurora & Crane Song HEDD.
Instruments include Fender, Gibson, Rickenbacker and PRS guitars, Alembic, Warwick and Fender basses and DW Custom Drums.
In addition to the above, with microphones from Neumann, Telefunken, ElectroVoice, Peluso, Beyerdynamic, Audix, ADK, Rode, Sennheiser and Shure and monitoring from Adam and Dynaudio and D/A from Cranesong, Lynx and Benchmark, you can be sure your songs will actually achieve the quality they deserve. That means no more puny drums, muddy basses or metallic sounding reverbs
Circle studios are now available at their base in Birmingham or to freelance internationally to make it 'sound like a record' for you too. We offer a full range of services from tracking and mixing to production advice or even full development deals. We are happy to provide session musicians as required.
