City Rain is the moniker of Charles Benjamin Runyan (Ben) from the streets of Philadelphia, PA. Ben trys to combine beard-scratching IDM with the fun and quarkiness of dancefloor minimal and even a little bit of guitar. Aside from writing music Ben is involved with various side projects scoring music for websites, fashion videos and other odds and ends.

Nachklangmusik Transformation E.P. DXR 036 out on Beatport feat. Transformation rmx by jay riorden.
Quoting disparate influences as Juan Atkins, Jefferson Aeroplane, Sasha, The Doors and his fellow countrymen Kraftwerk and Sven Vath, the German debutant to DXR, Nachklangmusik releases his DXR debut with aplomb. The Transformation EP is a mature collection of sounds and beats that can only be described as techno - music for both the mind and the feet - The Transformation EP also contains a wonderful remix of the eponymous track by DXR's Jay Riordan. As a four track EP all tracks merit their own distinction and the remix from the young Dubliner who discovered the German perfectly compliments this DJ friendly sonci adventure of tough beats, layered atmospheric sounds, Minimal groovers and FX. The Transformation EP pays homage to the early techno from Ghent, Sheffield and Detroit but owes an equal amount to the new geographical hotspots of Berlin, Glasgow and Naples; however, when all is said and done this is a proper slice of German techno by a new German producer that the world should keep an eye on as Nachklangmusik is one to watch.
Hi, City Rain Everything well? I’m here with a new about my work. It’s the releasing of a remix I produced this summer for Future Shock Records. The track is featured by the female singer Birgit (an incredible voice, for my taste) and it has been a great honour for me to get the chance to work with this Estonian singer. In this case I’m presenting commercial dance music, not trance or electro-trance so I guess it’s an easy listening. Anyway, you have the right word. If you are interested in getting this remix for radio shows or whatever, please, don’t hesitate to contact me. Kind regards and much respect from me.
