Claire was born and grew up at the foot of the Alps in Switzerland, with an Irish Mum and a half Polish Dad. She moved to London 11 years ago to study music. A lot of songwriting and band practice later, she met producer and founder of Ambiguous Records, Al Mobbs, who began defining her sound, and co-writing songs. And they drank a lot of tea in Al's kitchen.
After working intensely together for a year, Claire met producer Mike Hedges (U2, Dido, The Cure, Texas...), who mentored and supported her and Al for a few more years, until she eventually, one day, knew what she was doing.
Mike has just finished producing her debut album, Those Thousand Seas, co-writing several tracks, with Al co-producing two tracks and Sally Herbert co-writing and arranging. The album is receiving rave reviews, and major brands including Armani, Nike, Tiffany, Gap, H&M, Swarovski, Porsche and Mercedes-Benz are now playing Claire's tracks instore...
The album cover is the result of Claire being a huge fan of Anna Nightingale (www.annanightingale.com) and her paintings, and Anna being amused enough to let Claire play with photoshop to climb into her painting "Remora", and settle down in it... They have been friends and fans of eachother's work for many years, and found there was a similar sensitivity and landscape in their work.
Claire is now signed her and Mike's label Grá Mór Phonic Records, and to Appleby/Universal Music Publishing, and is loving introducing her album to you.
