CLARK: HERE COMES TOMORROW
"Their songs of love, loss, and rebirth will tear you apart and put you back together again."--SB Independent, Feb. 16-23, 2006
"Clark define themselves as singers of lullabies for adults. What makes this more compelling is that they combine a soft and subtle mixture of celestial folk in songs such as the opening track "queen" which is comparable to Simon & Garfunkel, and "burn" which possesses the vintage sound of psychedelic folk more in line with Syd Barrett. "here comes tomorrow" and "burn" are magnificent tracks but there are also other splendid moments as in the use of the glockenspiel on "headphone day" or more joyous still is this irresistible one "lost", in which one would gladly lose oneself in. Finally, this album has folk that is as "delicate and melancholic" as the Red House Painters which can be found in the track "again". The beautiful voice of the angel of Gabriel Friley is not foreign to all this magic that releases itself on this debut album of unbelievable softness. Delicate lullabies give counsel to the insomniac ones that range in age less than 1 and up to 77 years and more." 5 of out 5 stars. Written by Wilcow on August 29, 2006 at tatapoum.net
