We're getting word out on our new service. JesusWired.com is an extension of CLG Distribution and intended to be a Christian equivalent to CD Baby. The site is the foundation for the first level of a multi-tiered distribution program we have developed for 2009. Even at this most basic level, each product carried on JesusWired.com will be available for sale not only on the site, but digitally in over 300 brick & mortar (physical) Christian retail stores around the country as well. In-store kiosks allow shoppers to browse music and rip an MP3 file to their MP3 player, burn to CD and even print the artwork on the spot. And, like CDBaby, we offer opt-in digital distribution (iTunes, Rhapsody, Napster, eMusic, etc.). However, unlike CD Baby and other digital content aggregators, we actually PROMOTE your title to the digital sites rather than simply feed them your content. You're product is not "just another title being run through the system" but, rather, a unique work of art that deserves attention based on it's own merit. The net result has led to some very nice exposure for artists on front pages, in genre sections, free track of the day, etc. We achieved front page placement on a title for the week of new release and the title ended up in the Top 100 on iTunes Plus for about a month. This, of course, translated into some pretty hefty sales. There are never any guarantees regarding securing preferential placement, but we plug each and every product for consideration.
