THE LABEL: Clone records is an independent record label founded by dj Serge on one of the dutch west coast islands during the mid 90's. Now based in Rotterdam, Clone records is specialized in all sorts of electronical dance music.
Our artist roster includes talented artists such as Adult., Alden Tyrell, Dexter, I-F, Legowelt, Duplex, Drexciya, Elitechnique, Putsch 79, Marco Bernardi, Dijf Sanders, Kettel and many others. For more info; check clone.nl/artists.
THE SUB LABELS:
Beside the Clone label we also have a couple of sub labels. DUB recordings is the longest running and in 2002 Klen started the electro-techno orientated output called Frustrated Funk. He also runs Frantic Flowers together with Serge. You might want to check out these labels too; it could make you a happier person.
And last but not least: our sublabel Clone Classic Cuts which is all about forgotten, rare, old, funky, deleted classic tracks.
THE BUSINESS:
Clone distribution is our own distribution company we started to distribute our labels and a number of other record labels. This way we know that the records will find their way to local distributors and local record stores who are dedicated to the music they love. Our releases are obviously not available in every record store in the world (not even in the most of them...) but we dont really care. Actually we have a back-up plan for this problem... you can always order directly from our online store clone.nl if your local dealer can not deliver the goods.
Our music is also available on digital sites like: I-tunes, Bleep.com, Beatport.com, djdownload.com, playwordandsound.net, Juno digital and several others.
Note: demos are welcome and will be listened eventually, but keep in mind that we don't have the time to give feedback to everyone. Also: we're not taking on/ signing artists right now.
