Coco Coca was a one-man band.
------------------------------------
Coco Coca was born in a midwestern basement during the winter of 2005. His first release, the "Gasmask" ep, was self-recorded in said basement during that winter on a shitty PC with shitty equipment. Through much persistence Coco Coca landed some shows around his hometown and self-recorded another CD using the same methods during the winter of 2006 titled the "rubber ducky" ep. That following year Coco Coca was afforded the opportunity to open for some amazing bands like The Faint, Times New Viking, Annuals, VHS or Beta, Murder by Death, Dark Meat, Evangelicals, And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead and bunches more as well as venture on a small midwestern tour, performing for small crowds in bars and community centers. During the summer of 2007 Coco Coca sought out to self-record his first full length in a much nicer basement with much nicer stuff. Coco Coca moved to Seattle, WA January 9th 2008.
Coco Coca's first full length release titled "Black, Black, Black" was released late August 2008 and was followed by a tour back to the midwest in September 2008. Coco Coca played a majority of dates with Minneapolis band Mute Era, who are 100% kick ass. The tour included spots at the Pygmalion Music Festival in Champaign, IL and the Forward Music Festival in Madison, WI among many other dates in and around the midwest and great planes states.
Thanks a lot for the comment man! How you been? We'll be playing some shows out in Seattle sometime in the next year, so keep in touch! Our record drops next month too, get in touch if you want a copy!
This is kinda late, but I've been meaning to tell you. Thanks for giving me a copy of your record at the Beat Kitchen show, I am still lovin' it! (I still have my bar of soap too...)
Are you by chance gonna be in the midwest soon? I'll hopefully be in your neck of the woods this summer
