Monthly video post, highlighting various songs either previously recorded on an album or currently in the works.... or even a few covers here and there, just to keep everyone updated and informed. Here is a clip of our new song "Change of Pace." This was recorded at our show on June 10th at the Tractor Tavern in Seattle (Ballard)..... no vocals, just jamming on the reggae. Hope you like it!
Cody Beebe is a singer/songwriter from Seattle, WA. As a growing musician trying to widen his fan base, Cody is looking to play colleges, coffee shops, bars, and show halls of all sizes. Coming from a variety of musical influences, his sound blends Americana traditions with fresh and unique acoustic rock. Cody strives to create an original acoustic playing style with intricate strumming patterns and loads of energy. His influences come from across the board, from classic singer/songwriters such as Steve Earle and John Cougar Mellencamp, all the way to more recent rock bands like Incubus and The Raconteurs.
Born and raised in a small town in Central Washington, Cody grew up following in the footsteps of his uncle, Robert Shaun Beebe, a Nashville recording artist. At the age of five, Cody picked up his first guitar and began what would become a life-long passion. During high school and the beginning of his college career, Cody played in a number of rock bands. He has since changed his focus to his solo career, keeping the rock influences and adding his country music background, forming a fine-tuned Americana sound that is originally his own. Most of Cody’s songs deal with universal human experiences, allowing him to relate to an eclectic audience, using his down-home morals as the basis for his writing process. His songs range from aggressive to melodic and even romantic on occasion. One thing is certain, Cody’s style and distinctive voice are one of a kind, making it difficult to compare him to anyone in particular.
Cody has played a variety of venues in his career, ranging from small coffee shops to coliseums. Competing in the 2005 WSU Acoustic Battle of the Bands, he walked away with first place. He has opened for a number of acts including Rooney, the Drew Davis Band, Afroman, Ari Hest, Carey Judd, and This Providence. In 2007, his songs were featured on the syndicated Fox television show, “Jackson Horn.” In 2004, his song “Remember My Name” received honorable mention in the VH1 Save the Music Foundation songwriting contest. He has also released three solo albums, the third entitled “Much of Anything EP” which he is promoting currently.
Of his music, Cody says, “I have an ability to incorporate multiple genres of music cohesively in one package. I get the greatest enjoyment in making each song different from the others and even trying to incorporate a few different styles into one song, while at the same time keeping true to the backbone that my music has been built on.”

I saw this story and it reminded me of a similar situation with my youngins.
Last week I took my children to a restaurant. My six-year-old son asked if he could say grace. As we bowed our heads he said, "God is good. God is great. Thank you for the food, and I would even thank you more if Mom gets us ice cream for dessert. And Liberty and justice for all! Amen!"
Along with the laughter from the other customers nearby I heard a woman remark, "That's what's wrong with this country. Kids today don't even know how to pray. Asking God for ice-cream! Why, I never!"
Hearing this, my son burst into tears and asked me, "Did I do it wrong? Is God mad at me?" As I held him and assured him that he had done a terrific job and God was certainly not mad at him, an elderly gentleman approached the table.
He winked at my son and said, "I happen to know that God thought that was a great prayer. " "Really?" my son asked. "Cross my heart," the man replied. Then in a theatrical whisper he added (indicating the woman whose remark had started this whole thing), "Too bad she never asks God for ice cream. A little ice cream is good for the soul sometimes."
Naturally, I bought my kids ice cream at the end of the meal. My son stared at his for a moment and then did something I will remember the rest of my life. He picked up his sundae and without a word, walked over and placed it in front of the woman;
With a big smile he told her, "Here, this is for you. Ice cream is good for the soul sometimes; and my soul is good already."
Sometimes when i look around, all i see is misery, despair, frustration and pain...
Then, i close my eyes, take a couple deep breaths, RELAX...And ask myself, "WHAT IF all I saw was what I WANTED TO SEE?" Then, I open my eyes. I see the sun, I see the blue sky, I see my girls smiling back at me, I see life...
And then, lo and behold, I see nothing but OPPORTUNITY...
