愛媛出身の女性アーティスト。音大在学時よりコンピュータを用いた現代音楽作品を創作。
2005年より彼女の作品を聴いたausが自身のアルバムにボーカルとして起用。sonarsound tokyo に出演。国内外のコンピレーションへの楽曲提供を経て、2007年には、flauより待望のソロデビューアルバム『Mirror Flake』を発表。女性らしい細やかな音使いに美しいウィスパーボイスが響き渡る最新型のベッドルームポップが、イギリス、ドイツ、イタリア、アメリカなど海外の音楽誌で絶賛され、話題を呼んでいる。
cokiyu, who was born in Ehime, finished her masters degree of musicology study in Sonology Department of Kunitachi College of Music, Tokyo.
From her college days, she has been creating works using the Max/MSP composing contemporary
music for voice and woodwind instruments, and percussion instruments. Her works have been
selected at the ICMC(International Computer Music Conference) '99 in Beijing and the ICMC2003
in Sweden. She started to do live performances since 2002 with many international artists such as
Dot Allison, AGF, Piana. She has appeared at SPOT Festival '09 (Denmark) and also records as vocalist
with Bichi (hobby industries/aka: The Blue Foundation), aus (u-cover/flau/moteer), Eberg,
Robert Svensson (Mixtapes and Cellmates). Since 2006, she has participated in some compilation albums.
In 2007 she became the member of Shugo Tokumaru & The Magic Band as the toy pianist, and released
her 1st album "Mirror Flake" from a butting edge label flau in Tokyo. Her work is used on the website of
Canon, and used in Tokyo Motor Show.

Strange day. After watching a documentary about streakers suffering from over exposure, I took a nap. It was a short one. I woke up a midget. At first I was freaking out, jumping around, trying to reach the wall phone. It tired me out. So I sat on a foot stool and placed my face in my hands wondering why this had happened to me. In the middle of self-pitying I started noticing how much fun it was to kick and swing my feet. I was smiling again, and found myself running through the house at full speed... wrestling with my now giant puppy. Oh, the joy! I hadn't had so much fun in years! We laughed and played and laughed until we both fell asleep exhausted on the living room floor. Then I woke up and ruined the whole damned thing.
As we say in sweden "Liten tuva stjälper ofta stora lass", which means that in the summer you can't just sit in your room and play with you synthesizers! So we, Val Venosta, decide it was time to embrace our few days of sun here and create a more summerish song. So check out "Peace and quiet is for libraries!" at our myspace, as well as the video. Our first video with monkey kids on bicycles. Isn't that something!
Michael Jackson died and that night I had a dream, I dreamed that I was on top of a bike with ET in the basket, woke sad because it was just a fucking dream. For breakfast I had a revelation: it is easy to criticize, but it is not easy to take a picture with the ET I called the computer, it crashed, reboot and have fun with the coolest artist that ET has the hands. love, affection, samba!
