A thorough mixture of all these influences to create a unique "style that changes styles", while at the same time being focused on the universal aspects of musicianship in each style. The voice has a tamber resembling a cello or an alto flute, guitar has roots in classical technique, jazz and Indian classical music.
Colin Allured is a graduate of the North Carolina School of the Arts in classical guitar. He has also performed and recorded with the original rock group Thinking Plyers for the past 13 years. He plays solo in Winston-Salem weekly and is available for gigs and recordings.
Family Tree: If Van Morrison and Willie Nelson had a baby, with Sam Cooke and Nina Simone the grandparents on the Morrison side, and John Lennon and Steely Dan(use your imagination) the grandparents on the Nelson Side, and the abundant cousins including Paul Simon, Bob Marley, Leonard Cohen, Bjork etc. You get the Lineage that birthed Colin Allured musically. But this is simply the last generation. Founding Fathers of Classical Music both Western and East Indian as well as all the folk musics of all cultures are the great ancestors of this musician.
Writing Lineage is Sufi Mystic Hazrat Inayat Khan, Walt Whitman, Jack Kerouac and Allen Ginsberg.

The natural result in relating to ones teachers in this way is originality.

Hi Colin, It was so good to hear from you, you have no idea. Unfortunately, the message that was posted on your myspace was a spam thing that someone used my account & sent it to all 2 of the people on my friend list. I have no idea what that craziness is supposed to accomplish.
I miss you everyday & wish you all the very best. Send my love & greetings to your family as well.
