Colliders have been used for decades to study the makeup of the atom and to rock out on songs like "Boy Rock" and "Jannath". Less than 100 years ago scientists thought protons and neutrons were the smallest components of an atom's nucleus or that they where just a small band from DC, but in stages since then experiments have shown they were made of still smaller quarks and gluons and that there were other forces and particles. These particles and forces collide to create original, driving rock tunes with live displays of physical and auditory delights.
Collider is a rock band from Washington, DC. Our sound is driven by high gain guitar riffs paired with bluesy, melodic vocals - kinda like if ACDC had PJ Harvey for a lead singer. We just call it Swagger Rock and hope that no one calls us on the fact that that doesn't actually mean anything.
Collider spent the early months of 2008 recording our first self-produced album at Cue Studios in VA. "Six Story Walk Up" is a 10-song collection of driving anthems, catchy post-punk tunes, and edgy explosions of rock. From punchy "Snap" to politically-charged "Jannath" the multi-genre influence of Collider's members comes across in this album as each song offers something different, yet with a cohesive groove.
Collider has drawn enthusiastic crowds at DC area venues including the Wonderland Ballroom, The Red and The Black, the Artomatic Festival and The Galaxy Hut in Arlington VA. Founded in 2007, Collider is five-piece band that likes to rock out and have a good time providing a great show for all.
