Lots of things influence us to do what we do; just a few of them are: each other, psychedelic pop and rock music (both old and new), curved lines, all the sounds, friends, locals arts, and life in general.
1. A color wheel or color circle is an organization of color hues around a circle, showing relationships between colors considered to be primary colors, secondary colors, complementary colors, etc.
2. A color wheel is a christmas tree lighting device, featuring four transparent sections that slowly rotate and create gloooooorious hues of red, blue, orange, and green against your tree, tinsel, garland or ornaments. An ever-changing play of light adds a new dimension to your holiday decorating! This bit of nostalgia is also one heck of a fire hazard.
3. Color Wheel Records is an independent record label, based in Lexington, KY, and run by Samantha Herald and Tony Miller. We love music of all sorts and started the label in the hope that we could make somewhat of an impact on the local music scene. (And beyond!) We believe that the arts are just as crucial to the overall well being of a city as any other aspect, financial or otherwise. We’re here to do what we can to help. So, let’s try to stir things up!
Color Wheel will inevitably focus mainly on local artists but we are certainly not averse to working with regional artists as well; locals are just closer and therefore easier to coordinate with!
Beyond being just a label, Color Wheel is also somewhat of a recording company. Tony, who is the main songwriter in the Ideal Free Distribution, is a seasoned recording artist. Over the years, he has recorded and engineered not only his own music but a few friends’ as well, and at some point became an amateur record producer. Not only can we help a band release their songs, but we can help them create them as well. We are interested in being involved with the whole process and having an actual working relationship with the bands we encounter through Color Wheel endeavors.
If you’re interested in working with Color Wheel, or if you’ve got any questions or comments for us, please get in touch! We’d love to hear from anyone and everyone.
Feel free to contact us here or at info (at) colorwheelrecords (dot) com.

Welcome to Billy's Bunker (Music Reviews)! It's been busy in the Bunker.
The latest review is of Wussy's self-titled CD released this month. That album is folk honest and rock hard. Chuck Weaver's guitar sound should be patented as "Wingéd Agony." This album by Wussy is a sexy, spiritual, human experience with folk honesty and cluster bombs of rock 'n' roll.
We are like, the slowest band EVER. As soon as we get the celeste, sitar, and a horn section...we MIGHT send a mix for this record! Just kidding (except the celeste) So much love to the coolest kids in the USA! xoxox
Happy second week of the new year!!! It's taking forever but soon it's going to be done and our worlds will be one. Right now, we are in the mind warp that is vocals and theremins!!! XOXOXO!
