Live version of 'By My Side' from my upcoming album. Union Chapel London, December 2008, Arctic Circle Christmas concert. Yes, I'm the little person playing piano on the left of the screen. To the right Jerome Tcherneyan plays drum and David Sheppard dances with his bass.
Influences
Possibly my favourite song ever.
Music actually by Gunild Keetman and not Orff, although one of my favourite composers himself.
One of my favourite films... with Stalker, Metropolis, Cleo de 5 a 7, The Moomins(!), etc., etc...
My first album was released in April 2007 on the Peacefrog label , home of Jose Gonzales, Nouvelle Vague, The Innocence Mission, Marissa Nadler, Ellis Island Sound, Finlay Brown and so many more. Jerome Tcherneyan of Piano Magic recorded and produced the songs with me. He regularly produces songs of PM, including 'Incurable' which you can listen to on PM's myspace page. Guy Fixsen of Laika did the post-production and wonderfully mixed all the songs. Everything was done in the lovely city of London where I am now based.
The beautiful artwork for the album was delicately crafted by the gifted Richard Robinson. The photographs are by the fantastic French photographer Nicolas Toutain.

I have collaborated with the French band Ginger Ale. We released two albums. Check our website www.ginger-ale.com and the link below.

I have also been a regular contributor to Piano Magic's recordings since 2001 and hope to remain one for the next 40 years, at least. Check www.piano-magic.co.uk and the link below.

Piano Magic have just released their EP "Dark Horse" on the MakeMineMusic Label. Listen to "Vacancies", the song I sing, on Piano Magic's myspace.
Textile Ranch and Plinth have just released the beautifully melancholic "The Rest I Live To The Poor". I sing, play a bit of guitar, glockenspiel as well as my own special Harmoniflute of 1853.
Bonjour Angèle, je suis très heureux de compter parmis tes "amis myspace". J'etais tombé sous ton charme avec Ginger Ale et il n'a jamais cessé d'agir jusqu'à aujourd'hui. A bientôt, Nico.
Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?
A while ago I found stuff that inspired me to make this film:
Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella
Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.
Though source materials are quite aged, much remains relevant today.
