The Contexterrior label was born when TuningSpork Records ringleader Jay Haze relocated to Europe from America. Contexterrior's goal is to bring sub-bass, click- and glitch-heavy music to your bedroom and to the dancefloor. The sounds heard are a bit darker, with use of field recordings, unusual sequences, and an experimental attitude. The label's first several releases comprised mostly material from Jay himself, but soon many of Jay's influences, contemporaries, and followers joined the crew, such as Jeff Samuel, Ricardo Villalobos, Robag Wruhme, and Inxec. Whether it's a peak-time workout track heard in the club, or a subtle minimal composition heard on headphones, Contexterrior's output will take you to a different mental plane with its sexy psychedelia.

Two sides of the same coin: an experienced producer showing his penchant for versatility. Played by Tiefschwarz, Todd Bodine and Martin Eyerer.

London-based Eeprom has proven himself a major force, having released on Freak N Chic, Tsuba and Fondation, plus remixing Röyksopp, Simian Mobile Disco and Little Boots. He made his first Contexterrior appearance on Bloody Mary’s Black Pearl album, and now delivers a full EP with the abstract “There’s Nothing To Be Afraid About Now” and the electro-based “My Life In Parallel”. Philip Sherburne says, "Great stuff as ever from Mr. Eeprom (plus, some of the best track titles going). 'My Life In Parallel' sounds positively luscious."

Stefny Winter is a DJ of 10+ years, originally from California but having settled in New York City. In the past few years, Stefny has focused on production, releasing her tracks on labels like Archipel, Addon and AirDrop. Stefny finds inspiration in the resonances of our planet, from creatures dwelling in the depths of the ocean to the more troubling sounds of contemporary city life, giving them a fresh musical context within her productions.

Berlin-based Shonky returns with his second EP for Contexterrior, offering four more immaculately produced tracks that take the label into a housier direction. Olivier Ducreux first made a name for himself as a DJ in Paris in the late 90s, and has lately been affiliated with the city’s reputable imprint Freak n’ Chic. With his new EP, expect stomping workouts with a plethora of interlocking rhythms, jacking syncopation and some heavy-duty organ action.
