LATEST NEWS 10.1.08 With a little under 5 weeks until election day, I decided to add this InTrade Real-Time Electoral Vote Predictor map. It's based on economic market fluctuations in each state, as well as complex algorithms I won't pretend to understand. But it has been shown in the past to be quite accurate, and if current poll numbers are any indication, it looks like they might be right on the money again. Visit InTrade.com to get the widget! 8.28.08 I'm a bit late in posting this, but I, my anagrams and documentary were featured in my hometown newspaper, The Wenatchee World. HERE is the link to the article. (I was rather surprised they posted the Bush anagram in full, given how notoriously conservative my hometown is...but then again, the newspaper's online masthead does proclaim the paper to be "The Fiercely Independent Voice of North Central Washington," so what do I know?) 6.16.08 A MySpace friend of mine (and fellow HotDocs documentary subject Jules aka the Mixtress), has fallen very ill as of late. The documentary about her won Best Soundtrack at HotDocs (and frankly, it shoulda won more awards; it was excellent). Check out her page at http://www.myspace.com/themixtressonline. Her documentary is embedded in her page. My grandma Beuna (my mom's mom) is doing much better after a scary episode about 3 weeks ago. She's been home for a while and has stabilized, with someone there daily to check on her. We got to see her over Father's Day Weekend. Thanks to everyone who showed there support. Finally, the video below has been making the rounds on YouTube; it's already pass 1 million views. It's called "I'm Voting Republican." Yeah. You should check it out. 5.18.08 It's now online! Below is "Ars Magna," Team Juicebox's 8-minute award-winning documentary about yours truly and my Hamlet anagram. It's now featured at PBS.org/POV (or click HERE for a direct link), or, of course, click below! It will also air July 1 at 10pm on the POV program on PBS, as well as at the Northwest Film Forum in Seattle July 10. Look for it! (If you want to, like, see it again, but on a TV set or on a movie screen.)
I‘m Cory Calhoun -- anagrammatist, puzzlesmith, designer, writer and artist. I currently living in West Seattle with my gorgeous wife Miriam. We‘re both arts majors; my day job is chef at the Essential Baking Company; hers is HR operations at Tommy Bahama. That is, until A) I get a publishing deal,.. B) she gets a gig in either nutrition or music, or C) both. I’ve got eclectic tastes and embrace my inner geek. I make crossword puzzles and anagrams (see the Links To Check Out section), belt out karaoke with the gang, scrutinize and revel in the latest “Lost” theories, and rock out to the odd TMBG track. (You can interpret that last bit two ways.) And, we plan to get a dog soonish. If you know me, you know the rest. Cheers.
