Cosmo is the guitar-pickin' son of a lapsed Hungarian baron and a disinherited Scottish noblewoman allegedly descended from William the Conqueror.
A thirst for social justice and equality has been with him from an early age, encapsulated in the phrase: "If I can't live in a castle, no-one's living in a f*cking castle."
It's a theme that runs through many of his songs. Soulfully strumming the guitar while others tend to wish he'd just shut up, he also sings of dreary Sundays, bedsit philosophy, lost love on trains and small town acid trips. It's probably best not to mention his attempts to human beatbox and rap, though. So far, he's knocked out four CDs worth of the stuff and unfortunately for you there are more in the pipeline!!
Over the course of these CDs, he’s developed a unique and diverse style, consisting of punk, folk, hip-hop, human beatboxing, bluegrass and cowpunk.
(In no particular order.)
He has shared stages with Manic Street Preachers, the cast of Torchwood, Adrian Edmondson, Mark Thomas, Howard Marks, Pete Doherty, Frank Turner, Chris TT, Altern-8, Nizlopi, Dreadzone and Eat Static - and just about got away with it.
He's also appeared at venues, protests and festivals all over the UK - including Glastonbury, Climate Camp and the Big Green Gathering - toured Ireland, Europe and South America, and appeared on various media outlets, (legal and otherwise), all over the shop.
He won the Golden Comb award at the Hay Fringe Festival in 2007, and a Sweet Productions award for his Edinburgh Fringe Festival show Freedom For Tooting!!! in 2008
These days he also regularly updates the poltico-musico blog Freedom For Tooting!!!
Cosmo has also been known to stand up for many unfashionable political causes. This site, however, is dedicated to the most unfashionable cause of all, the one that is nonetheless dearest to his heart: himself.
Revolutionary...beautifully life affirming.....a smorgsmaboard of musical styles
