About me: Country Adventure offers guided trailrides thru the Blackwater River state forest,in Munson,FL. We have several rides to choose from.The short ride is around 45 min. long(OPEN TO RIDERS AT LEAST 7yrs.OLD),This ride is a great for anyone who have never been a horse or who have not rode in quite awhile or for thoose who are not in that good of shape.The short ride is also a great ride if you have little ones (riders 7 to 9 yrs.)the ride is held at a walk pace and the horses this is their favorite trail. ,The 90min. (OPENDE TO RIDERS AT LEAST 10yrs.OLD)ride is a great ride for those riders seeking a little more adventure.The 90min.follows an old game trail to a old abandon logging road,then it breaks form the logging road to follow along another game trail thru the heart of the forest,once back on the logging trail we cross a small water hole where you may see some white tail deer ,as you follow the trail thru the peaceful forest you'll soon come to the RED HEADED WOODPECKER nesting colony.Here you'll witness how the park authorites are helping rehabiltate this endangered speices of woodpecker.Your ride will continue along the old logging roads till you cross the lengendry THREE NOTCH TRAIL,ther you'll follow a game trail to some old logging trails that where last used when the mule skinners used teams of mules and oxen to lumber the old cedar forests.The ride will take you over the highest point in Santa Rosa Co.Once you cross back over three notch trail it's time to open them up bit,that's right you get to trot and canter your horse a short distance.Country Adventure also offers pony rides staring Skittles,we have pony rides the little ones (6 & younger)The cost of a pony ride is $10.00 per rider.The short trail is $20.00 per rider,The 90min. rides are both $30.00 per rider.We also offer a 3hr. ride for $60.00 per rider(RIDERS MUST BE AT LEAST 12yrs. OLD)This is a great ride to go on exspecialy if you like to explore.the first leg of this trip follows Timberline trail to the headwaters of the Coldwater river.Then the trail heads north where you can witness first hand the effects of prescribed burning has on the forest & wildlife.The last leg of this trip takes to old stomping grounds of the long trail but this time you heading in reverse.
